Following on from my 'I took out somebody's beloved dog' thread, I need some info on where to look for parts.

I have tried local ford dealers and as you can imagine they are crazy prices (£300+). No local breakers have anything either as surprisingly enough the front seems to always be damaged in smashes.

Overlag, could you recommend me somewhere to look? I remember you were in the lookout for a new bumper. I have a feeling this will cost me even more than I imagined.

Fordpartsuk were meant to be good according to FiestaST forums but they are as ridiculously priced as local ford dealer.

OMG how can you talk about parts when you killed a dog!!! You should be crying yourself to sleep every night with the thought of those poor puppy brown eyes looking up at you.

i had a hilarious reply, but ill resist derailing this thread just for the lolz.

id try ebay and local breakers and if you can wait about, getting them in the right colour obviously saves having to repaint parts

Have you tried eBay?

problem with Ebay is a lot of the parts are stolen from other peoples cars. I got lucky and found a complete kit from a writen off FiestaST (fire damage apparently).

the problem with the fordparts place is its like 390ish (minus vat and P&P) for the parts WITHOUT paint, which pushes the price past £700 for a professional spray job, P&P and vat. Although Ringo might not need everything replacing depending on the damage.

It took me just over 2 weeks and getting lucky with the kit to fix my car. Spoiler was only replaced this week.

If you can do without for a while wait for one from a ebay scrappy. Maybe cable tie it back together like someone posted in your "other thread" for now? One thing i must say is when you replace the bumper use nuts, washers and bolts to fix it on and not the stupid ford clips!

I will keep an eye out for you Ringo.

1) find another dog that does have a collar/owner
2) hit it in roughly the same place
3) ???
4) Profit

lol lets keep this civil though :D

Cheers mate. I think I will only need bumper, cover and grill and a right hand fog light holder. Hopefully all the fittings are ok. Fraud were quoting me roughly £315 for just those 4 parts alone. Guy down the road is getting me some prices too but if he thinks it will go through insurance I'm sure he will stick the finger in.

When I fixed my ST I found it was impossible to do it cheaply quickly, not if you need new parts... :(

For what its worth, if you get a new bumper it already comes with a towing eye cover so you can save the fiver you'd spend on buying one.

Ford parts are expensive but if you dont mind 2nd hand parts then you can get them cheap.
Ive found that you need to sign up to members clubs for the best prices tbh.
