Returning Kindle to Amazon, DHL missed pickup.

Did a search, but couldn't find any help.

Despite staying in all day for DHL, I just found a note in the front door saying "Sorry, we missed you". They didn't even knock on my door!

There isn't even a contact number on the form (professional!) so should I go back to their site and make a new pickup date? Or wait for them to contact me?

I really don't want to miss work and stay in again, even if they do come this time. Am I right in guessing this is nothing to do with Amazon now? What's the law on saying to them "Here's a time and date that's good for me, if you don't come then, it's not my problem."

Any advice appreciated!

You know I've always wondered are delivery people really that bad (only Royal Mail have done this to me), or do people who stay at home to wait on parcels get bored and fap at an inconvenient time?

I have perfected the ancient Chinese art: The Way of the Silent Fap for just these situations. Annoyingly, I even made sure I wasn't playing music so that I could here the door.

a few weeks ago when i was waiting for the DHL guy for a pickup i refrained from going to the loo for a crap for over seven hours, and i needed to go when i got up

Does your doorbell work? As a postie, I have that one happen to me quite often.

Sure, you can always knock as well, but then some snooty nosed so and so comes to the door and says, 'Did you try the doorbell?'. At which point I either batter them senseless with the parcel I'm carrying, or reply yes or no in a thoroughly uninterested manner.

I've always said, and my colleagues agree with me, that it takes longer to write out the 'sorry, you were too slow' card than it does to deal with the slack jawed occupant.

At least they put a note through! They just didn't turn up when I arranged a parcel to be taken back to Amazon. No note, no email, nothing.

They did this on 4 occasions, each time I had someone wait in for them and they never showed. Each time I had to email them to re-arrange.

If you email Amazon about it they will organise a pickup from CityLink. Don't know if they will be any better in your area, but worth a shot.

It's simple. Delivery drivers are all ninjas. They hide their vans behind trees and fat people then sneak to your letterbox and slip the card through un-announced while you're too busy fapping to notice that card on your doormat.

Good point, but yes, it's fine :D

Cool thanks, I'll do that next I think!

Anyone know this one? I don't want to waste any more of my time, really: what's the law on saying to them "Here's a time and date that's good for me, if you don't come then, it's not my problem."

My simple solution is to stand in the porch while i'm doing it. You see them coming and ...

:D

bear traps are the only answer

as soon as you catch them, just hand them the parcel to be collected,
but do the decent thing and help pull the jaws apart.

But the proof that they did come at the time and date specified is right there on the card through the door.
You didn't hear the door.

You are making an assumption.

I have an intercom which has been free (and within earshot) all day - I even checked the intercom is working correctly. He didn't even bother ringing the thing. I get packages every week without problem, but this is the first I can recall coming into contact with DHL and I wasn't looking forward to it as I have seen our local DHL driver larking around with parcels for other people (throwing them back into the van when that person has not been in) and at least one of my neighbours has had the same treatment.

Also, my doorbell is ******* loud! :)
