Antec TruePower New Modular 650W + Lancool Dragonlord = Annoying noise!

Hi guys

I've just put together my new pc, and am getting a very annoying clicking noise from the Antec PSU. I think it's the fan touching the fan guard on the bottom. I have the PSU with the fan facing the floor which I believe is the correct way around. I've taken off the handsfree PSU clip as I thought this may be compressing the fan into the guard but this hasn't really help.

Is my PSU dodgy? Or should I turn it up the correct way (which is wrong for the design of the case)?

I've got the exact same power supply in a Lancool Dragonlord K62, it's mounted with the fan facing downwards without any problems. Sorry I can't be of any more help.

Is this using the handsfree clip as well?

Looks like the fan might be a bit 'loose' on mine which is causing it to contact the fan guard.

Why not mount it the other way around?

The fan is an intake fan, so should be mounted facing the outside of the case. I tried turning it over and it still makes the sound occasionally anyway.

@OP,i had to RMA the same PSU around 1 month ago,had the same problems.

While they are solid performers there seems to be a fair few bad batches around

Thanks, looks like I'll have to do the same.

Annoying, as it took me ages to route all the cables out of sight!
