Does anyone run this game on a Phenom II X2 550? This game is pushing it to the limit it seems, would clocking it up help much or do I really need more cores? Can't clock it that much as still using the stock cooler. :p

Im not sure about that cpu inparticular, but i did find that my dual core E6600 felt like it was holding back the graphics card with this game, never tried to OC it though, as i didnt have an aftermarket cooler at the time. To the point where if i wanted to play bc2 i had to make sure i closed everything else down, especially firefox. It was playable with a gtx460, no aa or af. I will go fire it up now and check my fps with my quad brb.

Edit: 25-40 fps with my core2duo
60-75 fps with my quad
(high settings, 1x aa and af, 1080p)

You could always buy a new cooler any try the oc to see if it helps, plus you could re-use the aftermarket cooler for your next build too so it wouldnt neccesarily be a waste of money.

Infact give it a month or so and when i rma this mobo i will stick my nh-d14 onto my c2d and oc it ;P
Not sure what kind of comparison that would be though as its a diff cpu, i believe yours is better too ;P

I've got an X2 550 unlocked to X4 @ 3.5ghz it runs way smoother and with higher average fps compared to using X2 @ 3.8ghz.

If you can't unlock the cores, I would definitely recommend upgrading to a X4 CPU, BC2 was made with these in mind really.

I've tried unlocking the cores on my chip but it didn't work. :(

I'm using a 5770 that has been lightly OC'd.

Gotta be honest what with some of the deals OcUK are pushing at the moment I'm tempted by the MSI 6950 and a Phenom X4 955! But then I'd want an X6 and then it is starting(!) to get £££.

I'm not noticing any slowdowns, but then I've never known any better. In game one of the cores is nigh on 100% the entire time with the other fluctuating between 75% and 95%. TBH I think I've just got the itch to change something. ;)

Don't avoid the B2Z server. That's going to be my primary server now me and my mates have joined their clan/community.

Whilst I don't agree with the "no swearing" rule I respect the fact that they're the ones paying for the server so they can run it however they like; if they prefer not to see "OMG **** ****" spammed up in the chat window then so be it.
We just have to find other ways of expressing our disbelief at how terrible the Frostbite engine is.

Barmy why do you insist on playing on that **** server full of **** admins?, Tibbsey they are a bunch of nob ends.

Anyway i was on a uk server and had an awesome match with TealcSH, i think we was after each other :D. Was funny coming down in my parachute and shooting my pistol at his face in mid air, that's why i said " sorry tealc " :p
