Just fitted an ATI 6950 GPU. Could someone help with the extra CCC options?

Hi all

Just fitted my new GPU, but have a few new options and wondered if any veteran 6xxx series users could say what I should set, enable, disable, please. :)

Here is what I have set at the moment (aiming for a blend of performance and good IQ for gaming):-

Any pointers? Also, in the Overclock section, what does the voltage slider do? I've never seen an option like that before on a GPU. :o

Thanks!

PS. Now off to read the Sticky and unlock the extra shaders.

I need to learn what some of these mean, the only thing i really understand is aa

I guess forcing aa settings could be a good idea in metro with its stupid uncustomizable graphics settings

Yeah I try and force the AA and Filtering. Some games do not like this and can show graphical issues. I then have to go back and say to "use application" instead. But I find 9/10 times, override works fine. :)

What the sections are for:
Anti-Aliasing Filter: Box is the simplest AA mode, Edge-detect gives better image quality but can be a lot more demanding. The differences can often be hard to see.

Morphological Filtering: this is a cheap form of AA that is inferior to all other forms of AA, but has the advantage that it works in all games, especially those that don't allow AA. It's something to leave off, unless you're playing one of those games.

Tesselation: the game developers can choose the amount of tesselation used by a game, and reports indicate some are choosing levels which cause a performance penalty without increasing image quality. Through this slider, you can manually limit the amount of Tess. and find the level you are happy with.

Anti-aliasing mode: Multisample is the usual default, Supersampling is better but usually has a huge performance hit. Adaptive is a compromise between them. As with filter above, I think you'd be hard-pressed to see the difference between them in normal play.
