Would this be worth getting to see me over till Ivy Bridge?

Would I see much improvement in performance in games?

Not interested in Sandy, only bought my board from Overclockers last May so dont want to invest in a new board and memory just yet.

Was wondering either SSD or this chip.

Yes, expensive, but a lot cheaper than the 600 odd it would cost me for a X58 bundle.

For £260 I wouldn't bother. If you want a cheap speed increase you could either pick up a 2nd hand Q9550 or just get the SSD. The other option which wouldn't cost too much is a cheap 1156 board + i5 750/760 + 4GB DDR3. Should come to less than £200 2nd hand.
