... before you tell me , i know it's illegal but i don't apologise because at the biggest and most productive car plant in the world that's in Sunderland from the space of 2007-2012 we will only have had a 2.5% pay increase, and that m'lord is my excuse :D

..right to the nitty gritty. My SuperHub from Virgin Media arrived today and it's all set up and working fine. However if i go to a torrent site my Internet freezes and i need to enter the task manager to close it. The strange thing is if i disconnect the SuperHub and attach my old E08C007 modem which served for my 20MB Internet then i can access these sites no problem.

I'm not happy that i have something sitting in my home which is blocking and against something i want to do.

I suspect the issue is going to be settings on the router/hub thingy - irrc there is a setting that can cause issues with some applications.

The fact your "internet freezes" and you have to go into the task manager to close it (close what? the torrent client, the browser? MSN?) suggests that possibly something isn't coping well with not accessing the internet and and freezing whilst it awaits a time out.

It probably isn't. Try a different browser and see.

ha! Chrome works fine! Strange IE8 freezes with the SuperHub and i need to close the torrent site via task manager , but the same torrent site works with my old modem.

These KICKASS TORRENTS sites ;) maybe someone with a simliar setup could try, otherwise it might just be my system setup..

What torrent site is this?

Are you saying that you can change the modems about with out telling VM?
When I got my SHub I had to call VM to activate it now my old 50mb modem won't work on the line.

ipflood detection / firewall.. try turning both off in the advanced settings and see what happens (ofcourse if you have already then urm limit the connections to 2000 or so :P )
