Worth getting 16gb ram from 8gb

I have Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, will getting another 8gb of ram:

If you use all your ram slots up 'upgrading' to 16GB, then it will potentially mess up any overclock you might have aswell. If you don't overclock then I guess it wouldn't matter, but to use 16GB ram I guess you would have to be running virtual machines, editing huge photos in Adobe Photoshop, or doing some other memory intensive task.

If you do 3d rendering, or masses of video editing, then you'll see improvements. For anything else 4GB is more than enough never mind 8.

Depending on the rest of your spec there may be other things you could spend the cash on to make a bigger improvement.
