£41,917 for ready meals

Two month trip to Thailand for extensive massage ha ha think Gary glitter did that as well and look at him now.

There's another 1p on all of our premiums...

What a maggot, he should be removed from existence for stealing oxygen from the needy.

Still won his case, even with all the absurd rubbish tacked on.
Intersting that is seems to be the case you can chance your arm, tack on loads of rubbish, and aparently not have that negatively impact the result.

It seemed pretty bad anyway, then you get to the last paragraph, where it says he tried to claim more money for losing out on the chance to develop a game. Sounds like he was just running out of ideas by that point.

The basics of the case are fine for me.

Someone overstepped their authority and detained him forcibly.

Unfortunately he turned out to be a money grabbing freeloading ****.

I will defend him on the ready meals though, that was just 2 days worth from M&S.

If a LU staff member did the same to you, would you not be pretty peeved?

£1m is a p take, but heh ho.

No. If someone in authority stopped me I'd actually stop and be polite. He can't complain.

Everyone will be running at LU employees now.

In this case nobody with authority did stop him, just a guy who works on the underground.

The only people with "authority" in this country are the police and the Army in a situation where martial law is declared.

If a glorified ticket Inspector tried that on with you or me, I would suggest rather than claiming for damages we would be answering questions as to why said ticket Inspector was now on a liquids only diet.

Am I right in thinking that because he's been awarded less than what was initially offered as settlement, he gets nothing?

No, as far as I know, he'l still get his settlement. But if the initial offer was made in an official manner (complying with certain regulations), then he would have to pay their legal costs from whenever that offer expired until the judgement was paid. And some interest on that as well.

Please note that this is based on my extremely limited student knowledge and no practical experience whatsoever :p

if he followed his legal advice, he wont be liable for the costs. If he ignored any advice to take the settlement, then he might be in for a nice bill.

I'm pretty sure he won't get the settlement offer since he actually went to court. He'll get what was awarded to him instead.
