Do you have a bank account?

I have two bank accounts and one credit card:

Natwest One: combined mortgage and current account
Natwest Gold: student house account and iPhone insurance
Natwest YourPoints credit card: credit card which earns loyalty points

I did have an Amex corporate card but I cancelled this and use my own credit card instead for the loyalty points.

Two Bank acccounts and 3 Credit cards- Barclaycard, Amex and MBNA.

Barclaycard for Expenses, Amex for when we go abroad (Cash, Travel insurance is very good with them as are the exchange rates), and MBNA for stuff I want but dont really want to pay for in one go that month.

Two bank accounts, 2 credit cards. One which my income comes in and my rent/bills/tax goes out, and the other for my disposable income.

Two bank accounts with Barclays. One credit card, which I don't actually need and very rarely use but it's useful to have in case of emergencies.

Got 3 at the moment although I did have 4 -

- Standard innings/outings account (HSBC)
- Savings account (HSBC)
- Credit card (Natwest)

Had a 4th account with Natwest but it wasn't needed so I closed it

- Pea0n

1 x First Direct current account (main account)
1 x Natwest account (used to be my main account but NatWest annoyed me, keep it open as we have a local branch so it's easy to put cash/cheques in there and transfer to my First Direct)

1 bank account here(RBS) and 2 in the US. I also have £500 floating between the 3 accounts on a fortnightly basis.

Have 2 accounts
Rbs student account - (free railcard :D)
Santander student account - (had 5% current account for a year)
now opening a savings account for a better interest rate.

I am in quite a similar situation as the OP. I have one with Nationwide and another with HSBC. According to my dad the Nationwide is not a proper 'bank' so it's good to have the HSBC if you need to do certain things (pay a wire transfer for instance). Many people have lots of account to get better interest rates ar to keep transferring balances and have 0% credit cards. I don't have any debt so have no reason for this. I also think it's good to have two just incase one card doesn't work or you have any problems, but I don't see much need for more than that.

What do you use your Nationwide and HSBC accounts for? - I am not sure why I have or need two. Natwest is near for me so I prefer to use that, but Nationwide I have used for a while and I have kept it incase I need them or they can offer me something.

One current account for mortgage and savings account attached to offset the mortgage.

One personal bank account and one company bank account. Also have a nationwide account which we used to use for holiday money.

Got 3 with my Norwegian bank. One current account and two savings.

Did have 2 with Lloyds but the staff at the local branch was so terrible that I cancelled my account after 3 months :/

And how many do you have?

I personally have 2, one is with Nationwide Building Society which I opened as my first ever account, then when becoming a student I opened a Natwest Student Account. - But now I am wondering if I should keep them both, or ditch one and stick with one account.

How many cards/accounts do you own? And why? I have seen people with a lot of multiple cards, is it really needed?

I have four current accounts and debit cards right now... (hear me out!). I only really need two (one business, one personal) but the other two are Lloyds promotional current accounts that give me 4% on up to £7k in each.

Halifax student account which is what I use on a daily basis.
Nationwide flexaccount for the free annual travel insurance, plus I have my phone bill come out of there so I can ignore it.
and a general saver for the interest rates
