Well I'm going to be messing with Photoshop over the next few weeks, I'm going to be needing a mouse to do this task. Now i know the Apple mice will work via bluetooth, but I'm not looking at spending that much just yet as I may only use the mouse for a couple of weeks. So my question is, can i use any bluetooth mouse with the MacBook?
I dont really want to take up one of the usb ports.
Any recommendations would be good.

Thanks.

My Belkin bluetooth mouse has been fantastic with Windows; I can see no reason why it should be any different with Mac.

Just search for Belkin Bluetooth Lounge Mouse - should find it pretty sharpish.

I have been using a Logitech Bluetooth mouse for several months without any problems - no USB receiver needed.

I use a logitech v470 bluetooth mouse :) It was only about £15 when I got my mac a nearly 2 years ago. It's small enough to travel about but big enough to comfortably use in my big hands.

Almost all bluetooth mice will work and quite a few usb based ones will too (my mate used some logitech one on his 07 mbp too with no problems) just check before you buy

Been reading terrible reports on the Apple Magic Mouse that it's horrible to use for anything other than show/web browsing.

It may look the part but using it for anything like spreadsheets or photoshop seems a bit of a nightmare. I too am looking for a bluetooth mouse and probably settling on the belkin bluetooth number that Chapple mentioned. Am I shallow that it has to be a white mouse? :D

Yeah im only looking for a mouse for a little bit of Photoshop. I wont even use that too much so im not going to pay £57 for one. The only thing that puts me off the Belkin is that its white lol.

That's because it is a massive gimmick. They're fun to use at first, but incredibly boring - and useless with certain software. A couple of die-hard Mac users I deal with hate the things when they're working with Photoshop and the like! :p

Yes! :D

I seem to be the only one in the world that thinks this, but most mice are horrible on Mac OS. It seems to have some sort of mouse acceleration that makes it virtually unusable for me.

With that in mind, I like to use Microsoft mice on Mac OS. They're the only mice I've found with drivers that will enable Windows style mousing (MS calls it "IntelliPoint style"). I use the IntelliMouse Explorer 4.0 personally.

Just something to bear in mind if you find that you hate it as much as I do. :)

If you're looking for getting rid of mouse acceleration (what a heinous sentence in the Apple forums :D), I'd recommend a Razor mouse, it overrides all Mac mouse settings, works beautifully. I use the Orochi mouse, it's bluetooth :D

Does it use the Bluetooth from your laptop or a USB receiver?
It uses the laptop's built-in Bluetooth :).

I had a Logitech V470 and I absolutely hated it; too small for my palm (and I have pretty small hands) and the middle click required a huge amount of pressure relative to other mice to work.
