Ebay question - returning an item

2 weeks ago i sold an item on ebay and sent ot off to the buyer. the item had some damage and it was fully detailed on the listing prior.

the buyer received the item and stated they were not happy with the damage. i explained that i had been accurate with the description of the damage and not been misleading. before winning the item the buyer did not ask any questions about the damage and just went ahead and won the listing.

2 weeks have passed having not heard anything so i assumed that was the end of the matter. i then received an email yesterday from the buyer saying that they want a refund on the item, refund of postage to send it back also.

i am not happy to accept a refund now as they have had the item over 2 weeks. they paid via paypal, are they able to raise a claim for a refund after this time? also what happens if ebay side with them. they get their money back plus they keep the item.?

thanks for any help.

I would just say to them that you are not happy giving a refund as they have had the item for two weeks and the damage is exactly as you stated when you sold it.

Then just wait. The problem is, that if they open a dispute with PP, you will no doubt lose.

I would wait for that to happen though.

if they win a dispute are they obliged to return the item?

okay..rather than getting to a despute stage i think i will tell them to return the item. as for the return postage i will tell them i wont be paying.
