For dinner I am thinking about making my own version of a chicken and leak pasty.
Basically white sauce, chicken, mushrooms and leak in a pastry crust.
What sort of pastry would I be best to buy, just cause I am lazy :P

Any other tips?

Cheers for the typo, I always confuse "ee" and "ea"

I don't have a pie dish, so plan was just to wrap the filling.

Plan in a nutshell was
white sauce (well easy white sauce, milk, butter, flour, seasoning)
part fry chicken, leeks, mushrooms
Mix togeather, put on pastry, fold over, pinch to seal, cook in oven.

Just a wee thing I have a craving for.

You could always use an ovenproof plate as an inpromptu pie dish which means you could make a nice shortcrust pastry.

A tip for the white sauce - crumble a chicken stock cube in when you mix the flour with the butter - makes the sauce spot on for pies :)

May try that!

I discovered that chicken cube with couscous tastes of pot noodle!

Ate about 2/3rds of it.
Chicken was good, just fell away in the mouth.
Tad bland though.
Cream sause went uber thick and a tad lumpy like porridge but cooked through fine.

Doesn't look the part but as a student for me it's about the taste, which could have been better, but a good start for a promising meal.
