Finishing off my rig choices

Here's what I have so far:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - OEM [BX80623I52500K] £165.59

Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Far Cry 2 [ENGTX480/G/2DI/1536MD5] £194.99

Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) [HD103SJ] £39.98

OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low-Voltage Dual Channel Kit (OCZ3G1333LV4GK) [OCZ3G1333LV4GK] £35.99

OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £11.99

So in terms of the motherboard, I'm torn between the Asus P8H67-M Pro Intel H67 and the Asus P8P67 Intel P67.
I don't want to skimp out on it and then regret it later on, so what is the significant advantage of the more expensive P8P67?
Or would you recommend a completely different one?

With the PSU, I'm not really up to scratch so am finding it hard to determine which one I need.

And the same with the case. Don't care about the looks of it at all, so just as long as it does the job and keeps the rig suitably cool then I'm happy with it.

Any advice on any of it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The P67 chipset allows the K cpu to be overclocked, the H67 offers no cpu overclocking function.

The H67 is able to output the cpu's onboard gpu to connectors on the back of the motherboard, the P67 cant.

Did you ever want to add a second GTX480 for SLI later on? this will affect the PSU and motherboard choice.

case choice is easy, any of these are good.

Well for now the single 480 will be fine, and don't have any intention of buying a second within the next 12 months or so. The single 480 should be enough to run high settings games on right?

And similarly with the CPU, I doubt Ill have a need to overclock right now as the 2500k is plenty powerful for current games right?

So, I'm guessing that I should just go with the cheaper option now and then if I need to overclock and add a new GPU in say a years time then I could swap it out for a new one that will allow me to do so.

Does this sound like a reasonable plan?

And with the case, the Coolermaster looks good, but worth £8 extra for the Advanced version for the components I've chosen?

Changed the OEM for the Retail, was meant to be the retail anyway must have copy/pasted the wrong one.

So just the PSU to go then. Anything recommended?

Just found Coolermaster CM690-II Lite Dominator Case & GX 750W Power Supply £115.93 ?

And just wondering what the differences are between the Foxconn H67A-S and the Asus P8H67-M?

The Foxconn is just a little cheaper, and full size with more expansion slots, the micro-ATX is wrong.

Thats a good price for the case/psu bundle, its just that the reviews of the GX psu are a little poor with bad ripple voltage, so people on these forums recommend other psus with more solid reviews such as,

So basically no point in the Asus over the Foxconn at all then?

Would it be worthwhile to stick in the extra £15 for the XFX 650w? Do I need over 500w?

Thanks for the help so far aswell ;)

You dont need that much power, a good 550w will be fine.

but you dont know what the future will bring, upgrades and improvements etc, so having a nice psu will be a bit of an investment.

OK then, so we have:

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail [BX80623I52500K] £191.99

Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Far Cry 2 [ENGTX480/G/2DI/1536MD5] £194.99

Foxconn H67A-S Intel H67 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Micro-ATX Motherboard - (Sandybridge) £79.98

Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) [HD103SJ] £39.98

OCZ Gold 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Low-Voltage Dual Channel Kit (OCZ3G1333LV4GK) [OCZ3G1333LV4GK] £35.99

XFX Pro 650W Core Edition Power Supply [P1-650S-NLB9] £68.99

OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £11.99

Coolermaster CM-690 II Lite Dominator Case - Black [RC-692-KKN3] £61.26

Sound good? :)

O and also I would like wireless internet as well. Any particular card?

Thing is if I do end up wanting to overclock then I would have to replace the CPU as well as the motherboard then, which for saving £22 I'm not sure whether it would be worth it. :/

Just wondering what is this HDMI out on the Asus motherboard about?

The ASUS board has these outputs on the back,

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=LjSSn573sBqqHh8X&templete=2

1 x PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse Combo port
1 x D-Sub
1 x HDMI
1 x LAN(RJ45) port(s)
6 x USB 2.0/1.1 ports
1 x S/PDIF Out (Optical)
3 x Audio Jacks

the Foxconn has

http://www.foxconnchannel.com/product/Motherboards/detail_spec.aspx?ID=en-us0000512

1 x PS/2 keyboard port
1 x VGA port
1 x DVI port
1 x S/PDIF out Optical port
1 x eSATAII port
1 x Audio jack supports 6 jacks
1 x RJ45 LAN port
6 x USB 2.0 ports
2 x USB 3.0 ports

So if you ever wanted to use the cpu's onboard gpu, you get slightly different outpots on each board.

Ahh ok. So as I'm using the 480 this is pretty much irrelevant correct?

Yes.

But having onboard facility is useful if you ever sell the card, and have a period of time between a replacement arriving, you can still use the pc for simple stuff:)

Good point, I'll make sure to buy before I sell then :)

Theres nothing specific I need to look out for when looking at wireless cards in terms of them working with what I've got is there?

I know nothing about wireless cards, bar that N and G are the best. I think.
