Do you have a bank account?

I have my current account with the coop and a seperate savings account but I just use the same account number to log into online banking to transfer between them

Two that I use - one current account and one savings acount.

I've also got a number of unused online savings accounts that are basically idle, but there doesn't seem to be any easy way of closing them without phoning all the banks up, which is a pain. Why do you want to close it? Is there any offer we can give you to keep it open? Let me just pass you through to the accounts closing department... 10 minute wait... Are you sure you want to close it? What if I were to offer you this deal?

I have three current accounts and one credit card.

The current accounts are:

- Barclays, which I got as a student. I don't use it anymore, but was told it's better to keep it open as it shows you've had a relationship with a bank for a long time.

- Halifax - My main bank account, I switched to it because all my family used it, meaning instant transfers, plus a few years back when there used to be such thing as interest, they offered some of the best rates.

- Halifax - I have a joint account with my brother which we use for paying bills in our flat.

just the one for me, but barclays are bloody useless, such as me having to go to the bank 5 times to get a new debit card only to be told they've lost my details (5 times) and i'd have to fill in their stupidly long form over and over. it then took them over 2 months from when i'd given them my details (after the numerous trips to the bank) to actually send me my card!:mad:

3 at Natwest; 1 teen account (that i need to close down), one step account, one postal/online saver (used for temp saving up for things). An ISA at Nationwide, and a savings account at nationwide.

1 x Current account, 1 savings account both with The cooperative Bank.

Is it possible to get by without a bank account in modern times, surely not as a working person?
