** Official World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Thread **

anyone want to do the invite a friend thing with me? Cant remember how it works but I may pay for 2 months sub which I think benefits you? and gets me to 60 fast :)

ME ME ME!!, lol seriously tho I would be really interested in this, depending on what time you wanted todo it at and so forth, not really bothered about realm/fraction since I play as both horde and alliance normally

i just got my holy priest to 85 (yay!)

my only annoyance is warlocks who life tap to 20% health, well guess what warlocks i aint healing ya :P

1 of my friends used to say that and he was a priest to, is it just something with priests not liking locks?, I mean you have a few HoTs that you can use to get the health back, heck my shaman only as riptide and I don't mind locks using life tap
This god damn ****** me off!!!!

They don't even eat/drink... meaning i have to heal them and top up before a fight (I like to be fully topped up in all fights just incase something goes wrong ;) )

I don't think 1 or 2 heals will harm your mana pool ;)

It shouldn't but it's a bit naff to off your hp when you could stop at 50/50 (ratio wise) and drink up to get the rest.

Most of them are playing the OP class at the time like Paladins, and before it used to be DK's.

Aye, because paladins are so OPed... wait, what?

Seriously, it's hard to get anywhere with a ret pala. Tanking, no problem - even holy palas seem to be amongst the best healers, but for DPS it's no contest - bottom of the tables with any group that knows what they're doing. 4.0.6 class changes have put us back up there a bit, but paladins are a levelling class - their only real advantage in pve is survivability, which really shouldn't be too important to a DPS that knows what he's doing.

Blizz should just cut out the middle-man and let Warlocks drain mana directly from the healer IMO. ;)

Actually it does, it does a lot especially mid fights. If you're using soul tap the tank will always be a priority. I hate DPS who don't understand this and take unnecessary damage Cata HCs are a lot different to Wrath in healing terms, its a hell of a lot harder!

First time I tried healing a normal at 85 I was vote kicked for not being good enough and totally abused by the DPS in the group, this totally knocked me back and I only ever did damage for a while after, back on my feet now healing heroics without too much trouble. I hate elitists, as long as the person is willing to learn give them a damn chance.

ok, so if my mana's up top and the dmg isnt bad i will throw a HoT on them yes, but as mentioned above in the middle of a fight , and especially if things aren't going quite right and im having to heal 2/3 persons mana is a lot harder to manage than you think. ( double if im having to heal a crappy DK tank with a 2handed weapon)

Guys chill, I thought you ment after combat, not in combat, which I to hate :)

My healing rant was aimed more at what Persil said at the top of this page more than a soul tap rant :p

:), I left a group the other day because of the DK and tank, both were from same guild, and both weren't very good, but it was the DK that made me leave, my heals were doing nothing to the damage he was taking, I know shamans are pretty poor at the moment, but I never had that problem with other groups

Im not slagging off all healers but there is some real crap ones . Its funny how we could not get past the first boss with the first healer and then clear the place with the next . I also find shammy's and druids the worst atm .

Im getting quite anoyed at pug groups now .. done 4 more HC since my last post and once again they have all been fail's . Deadmines . tank and healer leaves after getting loot from first boss .. new tank and healer and they quit after some deaths on trash .

Grim Batol .. Wipe on every trash group and wipe 5 times on first boss (45g wasted and nearly 2hrs)

Shadowfang keep .. clear this ok but cant kill Commander Springvale (only reason i was there was for the axe )

Plus wtf is it with people unable to play there class .. Mage doing 5k dps in mostly hc blues and a couple of crafted epics . Rogue in full epic gear doing 10k .. Kinda getting anoyed with it all .

I admit that I am one of those DK's that take a bit of damage. This is not because I am a noob or that I don't know tacts or such, but sometimes I am surprised by how much damage I take, especially on multi mobs. I am not even sure why sometimes until I get the beep telling me my health is low. If I hear it, I always move away to try and stop taking any damage.

However, I do always apologise to the healers and tell them that it is fine if I die :)

One of the reasons seems to have happened since patch 4.0.6. When the patch hit, I gained a few thousand dps (doint about 10-12k on mob and few thousand more on boss), but the amount of agro I generate seems to have gone way up. It has reached the point where I can pull single mobs off tanks without much effort.

Of course, if I see too much agro, I will stop dps, but sometimes by the time the tank has regained control, I will have taken some damage or perhaps died.

During one DM run, the tank and me even tried to work out why it was happening, but couldn't see what was going on.

Has got a bit better recently, so many it is just a gear thing.

Anyway, the point is that I fully accept that I am harder on healers then perhaps others, but I in no way blame them if I die :)

PS It is not an excuse, but it should be noted that I think Cata is much harder on Melee than Wrath was with a lot more AOE centred on boss damage. :)

I think your 1 of the first DK's to admit that, the DK I was in the group with wouldn't belive me when I said he was hard to heal

You will pull mobs from Prot Warriors in 5 mans because their dps is terrible now.
They're at least 30% below the other tanks unless their Vengeance stack is through the roof.

I sem to be pugging with tanks who are new to HCs recently - Can't pop any CDs, even on bosses, or I'll pull aggro. The last deadmines run I did I figured that I couldn't go above about 15k dps, and that was almost right on a level with tank's threat the whole time. It's amazing what the difference in gear makes from 333 to 346.

You need to join me while I heal on my shaman, haven't had a wipe yet. "Bring the player, not the class" ;)

These "bad" players you are grouping with most likely joined the game during Wrath, where gear was a giveaway and content was stupidly easy.
Blizzard upped the difficulty to TBC standards and now they simply can't handle it, it's what happens when money [Activision] takes over the companies aims and goals.
