We are on the lookout for a new TV but to be honest I haven't the faintest idea which one to buy  We set a budget of £300 or there about's but I am sure we can squeeze a bit more if needed.
The one we currently have is as old as time and only 28Inch so a decent flat 32Inch or better would be a HUGE improvement. Basically it will be for watching tons of Films (DVD) playing Xbox360 and WII.

Plus my other half watches some crap stuff called soaps? occasionally, What's all that about?

Summary:
Budget £300-£400 Tops
32Inch (Or bigger)
Films (DVD) (No plans for Blu-Ray)
WII Gaming
XBox 360 Gaming

Look for a Samsung LE40C580 it's available for £399 or less sand has pretty much the best LCD panel you are going to find within your budget, huge threads on that model over on AV Forums, picture quality is great, plenty of connections and the ability to play most file types from USB.

Sony Bravia KDL37EX403U from the river/rainforest website for £379.99. I've had the 40" version for a few months now and it's a fantastic TV, lots of features and settings and the ability to watch Demand Five and iPlayer on it is more useful than you might first think.Freeview HD too, although I personally can't comment on the quality of that as I'm not in a Freeview area unfortunately.

Pair it up with an HDMI-equipped DVD player (or BD player) and you'll have yourself a nice set-up.
