End of my headphones stuck in laptop socket, help?

So yeah, just pulled my headphones out my laptop and it seems the end has come off and lodged itself in the socket. which ive never seen happen before and i always looked after my headphones well. Anyway was just wondering if any of you guys have faced the same issues and if youve got any advice on fixing it (IE retrieving the end from inside my laptop hehe)? And hopefully ill only have on gadget broken, not two :\ Cheers.

Image for comparrison. The right one is my normal headphones while the one on the left are my can's that broke. As you can see its literally just the tip that came off.
 
Tiny dib of superglue in the broken casing and then stick it back in and pull out after a few minutes.

Make sure the glob is tiny though or you may end up sticking the entire thing into the socket...:p

hmmm might work, i guess im just worried its ruin it however if i cant use it in the first place might be worth a shot.

and no jp. componants are pretty sealed and even if i could the socket is enclosed so would involve replacing the socket. :\

thanks amp worked like a treat and is all sorted now :D
 
You'll have to open it up and push the end out with a thin probe or screwdriver.
 
this happened to be once, in an old acer desktop. getting a new pc the week later so i dismantled it, got pliers and got it out. it made me feel like a bit of a hero. I was 12
 
Just a question, as I haven't seen it mentioned in a long time; has 'Nuke from orbit' been banned from the servers, as some form of boring punishment? Or am I just being overly paranoid?

If not, then that option would probably suffice. ;)
 
this thread is relevant to my interests

it happened on my wifes pc monitor two days ago, haven't fixed it yet just broke out the backup speakers
 
Ingenious solution there. I have now learnt my 'new thing' for today. Good job too, I'd nearly run out of time!
