Hello guys, right now i'm planning on buying geForce GTX 580 and im standing in front of a choice which i'm having difficulties to do.

So, basicly i dont know for which manufactuer should i go, these are the ones that got my interest:

MSI GeForce GTX580 Twin FrozR II,

Asus GeForce GTX DirectCU II

and
EVGA GeForce GTX580

My cash limit is around £430 and my fav for now is Asus' model

Help me, Overclockers Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Remove competitor link dude.

Personally the MSI with the twin frozR cooler would be my choice, cooler quieter and best value for money.

I would even consider this one if you plan to SLI or not it has 3GB of VRAM

OcUK GeForce GTX 580 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

I saw that one, very interesting, but it's made by Palit and i have never heard of them... +Im planning to stay on single GPU for another year or so, when the complete upgrade will come.

Well, not really much contest its the ASUS all the way. Although, if SLI comes to light, which it might, them the double slot versions will be a better choice.

From a personal point of view and due to its damn right sexyness (omg its hardware!!), i would have gone the ASUS CU no quarms, if it was not for the 3 slots taken up :(. Alas i stuck to ATI ...and for all my preching the drivers are fked up in CF. Dont get me wrong when they work they are top notch but having to wait through 2-3 driver crashes when starting a game gets old fast.

That Asus eats slots for breakfast though. It's huge at 3 slots. I personally was thinking of the MSI and did a quick comparison for a chap with the Gainward Good Edition which is only a couple of degrees hotter and a few decibels louder but £30 quid cheaper. I know it isn't really much when your paying that much for a card but it can make a difference.

Do you plan to attach an aftermarket cooler or liquid cool?
If so then EVGA
If not MSI

Pretty much all standard gtx 580s are as good as each other (evga ones are just overpriced) If u wanted to buy one for watercooling i would say get the Asus GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II anyway as its one of the only ones so far (excluding the 3gb ones) which has seen heavy alterations and would probably yield a higher overclock over standard gtx 580s and be cooler (aslong as u got a good chip!!)

Is the Asus a reference PCB though?

I suspect it won't be so you might have issues with the standard 580 water block. It's worth checking.

So, lining it all up again. so far it is:

MSI-5
Asus-5
EVGA-1
OcUK-1

A lot of opinions, but it put me right to where i started lol...

I like Asus, but if you have issues beware of the client support, it works but takes ages. With that said I would still get the Asus!

6990 being released in a week. I would wait for that to see what happens to prices.

it might take 2-3 weeks to prize change take effect, i'm not sure if i have enough patience, i was stuck at 9800gt for almost 2 years now...

MSI-5
Asus-6
EVGA-2
OcUK-1
