GTX480 or GTX560Ti

I too am in a similar position. However I am approaching from the opposite direction.
I am an Nvidia person who has had a few ATI cards in the past, and been fortunate not to have suffered driver issues... well not since open GL on a Rage Fury Pro.

I was looking at the 6950 at stock performance and think it is the best value for money. £200 budget also.

However if there was an nvidia card that matched the performance and price I would go for that.

Ultimately I have to look at what I want performance wise, look at my budget and go with the manufacturer that offers me the closest match to my requirements.

I think that Basiq PSU won't be enough for the 480. You may be okay for day to day use depending on the rest of your spec but it's really getting a bit borderline especially under load. And definitely not if you're OCing the card or bumping the voltage, no way.

So is the bad ATI drivers myth justified then?

No, if you read my post again you'll see I said bad driver experience is just luck of the draw really, even with nvidia cards, and that there are reviews out there which have had problems with ATI drivers too.

Go for it, but don't stay at stock, there's a lot of free performance to be had from the 6950's.
