I want to Google this but can't for the life of me think of an accurate search term.

I have weird little spots which seem to pop out of my skin progressively over the years. I can count 7 on my upper body now. Their tiny little stick out pieces of skin which have no feeling in them whatsoever. I've heard the best way to remove them is to wrap a piece of string around them until they fall off? Or possibly have them frozen off, the same with warts?

I've no idea what causes them. I do train heavily, so possibly skin stretching due to bodybuilding? I've been told their harmless none the less and their tiny but still annoying as they keep popping up through the years.

Anyone know the name?

If my description doesn't help, I'll try and get some photos up!

Gosh, that was quick! :o Yeah, that seems to be the one, although mines do appear far less scary than the ones on Google images :p

Anyone else got these?

As far as I know they are typically benign but it is not advised that you just cut them off like that (also depends on the size). Eitherway, even if you remove them chances are they will grow back exactly where they were. A friend had them removed at a dermatologist as part of some other treatment for free but after a few months they grew back...

Yeah the google images are quite scary!
Think most people get a few. It was on C4's embarrassing bodies at some point, they basically said you can take them off with thread, or if you want get your GP to do it.

I've taken a small one off with nail clippers, bled for a few mins, like i'd pricked myself with a pin or something. I took a larger one off by tying string around it really tight. It shrivelled and died over night, picked it off the following morning.

I've contemplated this but through fear of leaving a mark or scaring and heavy bleeding, I left it?

There was zero bleeding and they now just look like moles. Mine were very small however.

One is now dark black and has grown about ten fold but apart from that all is good.

Used to have one on my chest, quick anaesthetic jab and a thin wire at the doctors had it off. I've got a little scar on my chest now, nothing else besides. Lop 'em off.
