As well intentioned as the guard may have been, I think he was foolish, especially considering the mass paranoia surrounding paedophilia in this country.

He should have just helped the girl up, taken her inside the store to sit down but made sure that there were other staff around, then called for medical assistance (e.g. first aiders, parents, medics, etc). If he was capabale of adminstering the first aid himself, he should have at least got another member of staff to observe.

I know all this sounds ridiculous, but that's unfortunately the reality we live in. Innocent or not, merely being accused of paedophilia is too high a risk to not take such extreme precautions when dealing with children who are not yours, especially so if you're male.

That said, the actions of the mother are despicable and completely unwarranted. If she had any concerns, she should have made them to the store manager directly and kept the whole thing a private matter.
 
Any security staff where I work aren't allowed to be alone with any female from the public without another person in attendance, always another female. It's basically the norm for security staff in high street stores. Sounds like shiznit.

IQ and location isn't a measure of paedomania or how people handle situations.
 
Its the tabloid rags (i wont call them newspapers are there is no news in them) that make people believe that there is a peado lurking round every corner and that any one who is over 20 and talks to a child they don't know must be trying to sexually abuse them.
Not to sound condesending but technically peadophilia is the sexual attraction to prepubescent children anyway so even if he has done something inappropriate with the girl he wouldn't be a peado as she was 14 so im assuming has started puberty.

There are people that stupid, there are people who'll scream 'paedo' at the drop of a hat and there are people who snaffle up tabloid-written fodder as if it's the Gospel.

How sad that a supportive thread for someone close to the OP could turn into another "prove it! - source! - rubbish!" cycle ad nauseam. A lot of people here try too hard to be clever rather than human.
 
Security Guard should have told said mother that her daughter wasn't up to his standards, and not to flatter herself tbh.

But seriously, if true, said family need to be expunged, promptly.

I think you ought to go back and read threads properly before making a fool of yourself.

And don't try and find the post, look at the posts before and after it and how it was wrote (it was a pee take out of GJ02).

I am Lysander and Magick's biggest critic but they give me lots of amusement.
