Assuming you'll be re-using your current cooler and you can stretch the extra £35 then this would be a better option.

Potential for SLI/Crossfire,which you didn't have the other board.
Very cool running and capable overclocking board.
Slightly better quality RAM (nothing wrong with other RAM you specced, but OCZ are pulling out of the RAM sector, which worries me).

EDIT: Having just seen above, Im worried about your PSU. 2x HD4870X2? That will be some massive powerdraw!

Thanks for the reply

Not really bothered about SLI support, but in general will that be a better board?

yep ill be using my current cooling.

And yeah i guess ill go for that ram only a packet of cig's worth more money :P

And psu iv got a 1000w now need to update cig lol :)

Definitely. Runs cooler, more stable overclocker, and has proper CF support - which you will need! :p

(By proper I mean runs at 16x/8x speeds).

Which brand PSU, out of interest?

The MB in the bundle in your opening post doesn't have 'proper' crossfire support either (only 16x4x), hence assuming you didn't need it. Go with the motherboard Cookeh suggested if you want Crossfire support.

I'd question the 4870x2 crossfire though, quad GPU scaling is pretty terrible and dual GPU cards tend to have a shorter lifespan anyway. Means if you buy one for £100 2nd hand which has been used quite heavily, it might not last too long if you're unlucky. You'd be better off selling your current card and getting a new DX11 card TBH.

Its a old ernermax galaxy i picked up cheap :) and thanks for the advice guys

Yeah will be fine then.

Our pleasure :p

EDIT: Just saw Mints post. I do agree about quad-fire tbh. Scales horribly - not so bothered about the lifetime point though :p

Yep, agree'd about the quad gpu scaling etc, but as the cards free that im getting, mite as well shove it in till it dies, by then ill have enough for a new gpu :)

Flog them both :p

About £120 each, gives you £240 - can get a HD6970 or a GTX570 for that

right here iv got my list, ordering tomorrow when i get home from the girlfriends :)

had to add a cpu cooler and dvd drive as my cooler wont fit nor will my old dvd drive

Price still beats what i payed for my current rig when it came out, 200 quid for cpu, 200 for mobo and 200 for ram lol
hope i get as much use outta these as i have my current setup :)
