Hi everyone, this is my first post/thread and I'm new to this so please don't bite my head off.

With Rift just releasing and Battlefield 3 on the horizon, I don't know the specifications for BF3. But is it possible to build a rig that could play Both of them and other top end games due to release with high settings and frame rates with a budget of around the £650 - £700 mark.

its got a silly fast gpu, a GTX480 is faster than say a GTX560ti or 6950 at the same price.

Its a single card only motherboard.

A Antec1200 really does screw the budget up and means dropping the spec down.

Made some changes

Just made some changes, well a lot of changes just wanted to see if its all good before I purchase.

Some quick questions can the motherboard OC the CPU and the GPU and is it crossfire compatible. And any suggestions for change are appreciated.

can't use the h67 board has to be the p67 variety

doesn't support tripple channel so change to dual channel

and the gtx 480 is better than the 6950

Any reccomendations on a mother board that supports SLI/Xfire and triple channel?

And i thought a 6950 can overclock to a 6970 which is on par with the GTX480 or is it not worth the hassle.

it can but why not just get a 480 which is cheaper than both the 6950 and 6970 and can overclock a bit ...

some people complain about the noise but if you just tun up your speaker volume it isn't much

Ehm, Why not get a 1G GTX 560 as apposed to a 1.5G 480?
the 480 has overheating issues, And Is only slightly better than the 560 in terms of Raw power, Not actual performance IIRC, Plus theyre around the same price, And the 560 has less Power consumption, So you might be able to scale the PSU down a little.

the 480 is better it may run hotter than some other cards but it's designed to be able to handle it and is cheaper .... if your woried about heat get an aftermarket GPU cooler but yea the build looks good

GX power supplies aren't the best and you wouldn't be able to CF/SLI on it.

If looking for CF/SLI get this

If single graphics, this will do nicely.

CFd HD6970s (I assume you'll flash them, if not point still stands) will be a very potent combination and last for a very long time - also means future upgrades are a little bit cheaper as an older graphics card will ofc be cheaper than a new more powerful one
