Preferably with the whole gangster irish/mobster/mafia scene.

The Godfather is an obvious one if you've never watched it and the book is pretty good too.

True Romance for a slightly left-field option, great film.

Things To Do In Denver When You're Dead is another nice choice.

Le conseguenze dell'amore (The Consequences Of Love) if you don't mind the film being in Italian.

Both good films, the first one especially. Very long though.

Road to Perdition is pretty good too. Some fantastic cinematography in it, there is a gun fight in the rain which is phenomenal.

Did someone mention that Once Upon a Time in America was "very long". ****. It takes about 3 weeks to finish that film start to finish

and that's after it was cut down to suit the producers. haha
