Geneva Motor Show 2011

not bad at all..be interesting to see if toyota go with their own turbo engine or use the subaru engine (can the flat 4 give a decent co2 rating to make people want to buy this without being stung for top end road tax?)

if you want to make a coupe that will sell well in the current economic climate its no good saddling it with high running costs..just look at the mazda rx-8, it bleeds money!

the alfa looks gorgeous! in black the rear end would look like a batmobile!

They need to do that FT-86 with a more powerful option too, there has to be a 300-400BHP varient. :D

hopefully they pitch the new celica around the same cost as a scirocco, or would toyota be able to undercut that price whilst still keeping decent equipment levels?

200bhp, and rear wheel drive in fair looking body...it should sell well if priced cleverly

especially when you see what peugeot charge for the RCZ

It seems they will both use the same Subaru boxer engine, and will initially be naturally aspirated. They do say they haven't decided on a Turbo version and are open to the idea.

Ive been following this car for a long time and think it looks fantastic. Depending on release spec, I want to order one. It will be nice to see Toyotas show rooms to look exciting again. Currently it looks very dull IMO compared to when we had Supra's, Celica's, MR2's, Starlet's, etc.

They seem to of based the car around the mechanical grip and handling which is superb. Front McPherson and double wishbone at the rear.

I agree, Toyota are epically dull at the moment.

I would get one of these within a heartbeat if they are priced right. Rumours are around £20,000 for the base model which is fairly sweet.

Puts it within reach though :)

the ft86 looks the bees nees, if they get the packaging and pricing right, it should sell like hotcakes, would love to have one.

Give it another 5-6 years and will be priced perfect :)

go and ask the skoda man if they will be doing another Vrs version when they do the next octavia?

I spoke to them this evening, over a beer or three, and it's "very likely" that the Octavia, when it's replaced in about three years, will get a new VRS version. Should be great!

Obviously they do the vRS diesel and TSI versions at the moment, so it'd be logical to continue that ;)

Oh, in both hatch and estate..........potentially!

Subaru did actually put their coupe concept out in the flesh too but I'm not too sure about it. I did take some pics but I'll stick a truckload more up tomorrow.

I'm going on Saturday, does anyone know how far the airport is from the motor show please?

Seems very close on the map? Can we walk to the show?

If not, their website says sbb has train+show ticket combo.

Does anyone know how to buy these? Their website is a bit confusing.

Any forum members there on Sat?

ps3ud0, wear comfortable shoes and light clothing, haha. It's very warm and there's a lot of ground to cover.

Do check out the Pagani and Koenigsegg stands, brilliant cars on them. The Corvettes and Camaro on Chevrolet's stand are gorgeous too.

I took a little over a thousand pictures so will sort through them and put some up later.

alchemistkevin - the airport is about a 15 minute walk from the show entrance, and it's not a difficult walk either. Hope that's some help!
