Ebay problem, buyer complaint.

Item sold on 4th Jan
Its now March 1st, Over 45 day rule

Its also worth pointing out she would only be protected by paypal if it had arrived broken (not as described), as she left decent feedback it could have broken a week after she received it and paypal couldn't do anything about it.

I hate e-mails like this, really makes my blood boil. There is no explanation from the buyer as to what the problem is or any detail what so ever. When I receive e-mails like this I respond in a similar manner.

To repeat what others before me have said - just politely tell her no and move on. If there was a problem when she recieved it she would have contacted you so it clearly has broken since then.

It's not your fault OP, you're not a shop. ;)
Tell her this in an email with an attached picture of you with your £9 in hand smiling.

If she wanted a brand new item, with warranty, she should have paid the full amount from a retailer. When you save money by purchasing 2nd-hand goods those are the chances you take. Tough.

Nothing to do with you - if it is truly not working (and not just an ebay scam), then it's just bad luck on her part. To use the expression, 'You're not a shop'.

I think he sold it for more than £9, I think that was just the postage?

Otherwise, for £9, what does she expect? lol

I replied telling her to ensure it's well ventilated and to try reformatting the hard drive through the setup menu.

I do feel bad that it might not be working but at the same time, it doesn't quite add up. I mean if she'd got in touch after a week then fair enough but leaving good feedback a month later should have been plenty long enough to spot any faults...
