I call open the almighty ocuk google-fu to locate me this elusive device.

Looking for a plug-in thermostat with sensor probe.
One where you plug the thermostat into a wall then a device/heater into the thermostat. Any should do as long as it covers the 10-20c range which I imagine any would.

Like this but english 3pin/240v
http://www.amazon.com/Refrigerator-...ref=sr_1_2?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1299012046&sr=1-2

Can find loads without a probe and a lizard tank one with a probe, but it has variable voltage rather than simple on/off.

Any help would be much appreciated.

i suppose if push comes to shove you could get one like

which has sensor but not o na probe, pug an extentio ncord into wall socket then run it into the fridge thoguh a small hole (take plug off so only wire has to pass though) plug in that to it,

then do the same with the fridge plug/whatever your using for temp (again though a little hole and reattach wire) and plug it into the thermostat.

Not as elegant and more work but if you can't find something.

or just remove the temp sensor from the unit and splice your own wire in. but i imagine you'd have to calibrate it but i suppose you'd have to do that with any you lengthened the probe on.

Tefal, I think all of those say not for cooling, only heating not sure why though.

how cool does it need to be acid?

could you not just use the built in tempset/thermostat in the fridge or does it need to be too warm for that/the fridge has no option to set temp?

About 16c for cheese, not sure for the meat. must be plug in ones for air con though, rather than heating. i have seen plans for build your own, but would rather not.

fridge got no option for that?

on ours you can set from 2-22 in a few degree increments i think and it'll stay that temp.

Thanks, any idea what wattage a typical fridge is?

hook it up to solenoid switch which activates the fridge, like how a car ignition works?
