I've been up all night trying to make my ******* 6950 2gb to work.. It just will not do it right, the problem I have is CCC either doesn't appear or is half visible and only offers me some hybrid bullox.. Ontop of that, its making my windows 7 theme stick to basic.. I've driver swept, regedited, deleted direcotires, use windows install cleanup .. pretty much raided everything on google. Upon installing a driver over the default driver with windows update, I get a white screen with loads of artifacts, gaming seems fine with just the display driver tho. This card is only 1 day old, and I just can't get it to run with CCC and Aero.. please help,

What did you have before? Have you started with a fresh install of windows?

Driver cleaner can and does make things worse as well, it's entirely possible that it's contributed to your issues.

I have never used driver cleaner or sweeper and never had a problem when replacing cards even of different makes.

Yeah, something has borked with the fiddling.

Best option is to reinstall from scratch, if it still doesn't work maybe you have a bad card...?

I guess the best option would be to try and completely clense your system before a reinstall

1) Download driver sweeper
2) Open Device Manager > Right click the video card > Uninstall
3) Reboot and load machine in safe mode
4) Start > Task Manager > show processes for all users
- Kill any processes beginning in ati2envxxx.exe
5) Uninstall any catalyst software
6) Run driver sweeper (clean both ati and nvidia drivers)
7) Reboot
8) Install new driver only
test system

Then it is up to you if you install the rest of the suite

If that didn't work i would try the card in another machine or installing windows afresh on a seperate hard drive

1) Download driver sweeper & install
1.1) Within Windows, uninstall ATI stuff from CP (don't reboot)
2) Open Device Manager > Right click the video card > Uninstall
3) Reboot and load machine in safe mode
4) Remove any ATI or AMD folders from C:\ drive
5) Remove any ATI or AMD folders from ..<userprofile>\appdata\..
6) Run driver sweeper (clean both ati and nvidia drivers)
6.1 Check HKLM\Software and HKCU\Software for any ATI entries and delete
7) Reboot
7.1) Run driver sweeper in Windows one more time to double check
8) Install software
8.1) Final reboot

...

Edited slightly to what I do each and every time a new driver appears. :)

Before you re-install OS or use driversweeper, try removing any 'ghost driver's, Google it. I'm at work and can't send the link. It may be the problem.
