Im an avid fan of the FN series and and saw the trialer for the new game the other day. Seems to be story based

Also notice the game is rated M :D

EA announced today that EA SPORTS is developing the latest iteration of the long-running Fight Night franchise, entitled Fight Night Champion, at EA Canada in Vancouver. Fight Night Champion will set a new standard in sports videogames by delivering the most dynamic simulation fighting experience to date, pushing visual boundaries and redefining the single player journey for the category.

“The EA SPORTS Fight Night franchise has consistently delivered one of the best sports experiences with each iteration”, said Andrew Wilson, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Development, EA SPORTS. “EA SPORTS Fight Night Round 4 was a genre defining game, and led the way as the industry transitioned to physics-based sports games. EA SPORTS Fight Night Champion will again forge new ground and deliver a sports experience unlike anything seen in the genre to date.”

Fight Night Champion will break the mold of what is expected in a single-player sports game. Players will be introduced to an entirely new way to step between the ropes and experience the drama, emotion, excitement and tragedy of world championship boxing.

Featuring a refined physics-based animation system that incorporates improved locomotion, punching and stamina mechanics, Fight Night Champion will enable users to move, attack and dodge with the speed and power of the best champions, contenders and pretenders in the world of boxing. In addition, an all-new control scheme, dubbed Full Spectrum Punch Control, will deliver the most realistic punching system ever seen in a simulation fighting game, while still delivering an accessible experience that will make Fight Night Champion the most user-friendly title in the franchise’s history.

Fight Night Champion will set a new standard for visual presentation with the most realistic boxer-likeness to date, fluid animations and damage that truly conveys the brutality of the sport of boxing.

If I can find a supermarket deal somewhere then I'll buy it on release day.

I hated the last one, loved the one before that... I'm hoping that this one will be a return to form.

I best get Killzone 3 SP finished so I can trade it on towards this, glad to see a more proper sp game for this.

Got it for review yesterday, and I love the start of the game, straight into the action in Champion Mode, no messing around, getting up off the deck and having to win the fight. Awesome stuff. Enjoying the story so far, and loving the action, it's so much better than previous Fight Night games, where I felt the AI was too good at countering. Really looking forward to spending more time with this tonight :)

Oh, and flash Knockdowns rule, especially when you time a dodge perfectly and unleash a right cross onto your opponents exposed chin, and he collapses in a heap :D

sounds great.

I got a dispatch email from shopto so i should have it tomorrow

Ok, flash knockdowns aren't always good, especially when they're thrown by Vitali Klitchsko against my Lennox Lewis. Still, I flash KO'd him in the 1st round in the rematch, so it's all good :D

just got the game today. GREAT fun.

i cant beat Vitali with david haye. Im playing on pro difficuty and he always knocks me out in 9th round. He can just pucnh through my guard

I had the same problem with Haye against Wladimir, I was outboxing him, and doing more damage in each round, but his power won out in the end. I think it just shows that a tighter defence is needed against real power punchers, and picking your shots is much more effective than just wading in and hoping to land the KO punch.

Not happy about FN5, let me get the good points out the way:

Great graphics, Bishops hair grows back in Championship mode, actual visible damage now

now the bad points: Jabs are usless, try stringing three jabs together.. for some unknown reason after the second jab they just stop and become unresponsive for a seconds, its soooo annoying! No health meter for opposition was a poor choice, but the worst thing is this control system BRING BACK FN4's system it was sooo much better. You have to be far more accurate now to get a jab, sometimes it comes out as a straight right WTF! I'm finding it very hard just to do 1-2-1. I'm frustrated with this game and disappointed.

Just finished the Champion mode. Man that was so enjoyable! shame it was short but they did a great job with the charcters.

That last fight was sooo much BS though. Really liking the game

no kessler or froch in the game! :(
