Ok, on houses like these:

how would you reach the windows at the top because obviously putting the ladder on the gutter would snap it, and stepping on the roof is surely a no go.

You can get the long poles but then surely the clean wouldnt be as good and theres the issues of wiping up the excess water as well.

Thanks and any advice will be appreciated.

I have no idea but those houses don't have a 2nd floor! They have a ground floor and a 1st floor.

Sorry, it's late and there's not a great deal else to do :p

I'm pretty sure you can get a ladder which does something like this...

Have no idea what the type of ladder is called though.

The long poles are rpetty good, well the ones the window cleaner uses are. No idea if civvie versions are as good.

They will use a pressure washer and a long lance, mainly due to the huge insurance quote they will get for using ladders. If they were in Scotland then the housing law states that all windows must be able to be cleaned from the inside

I'm with you on this one, it was the subject of an epic drunken argument on the way home from the pub once. :D

Why can't you climb out a window and stand on the roof??

PK!
