FAO: Those Wanting a Cheap Android Phone

Just ordered one online... all processed normally so will see what happens. At worst they cancel, at best i make 30 quid for doing not a lot haha..

I called up my local store to check if they had them in stock and they did, but I thought I'd query the price. He asked how much it was online and it went something like:

Me: "It's £7.95 online"
Him: "Seven?"
Me: "Yeah"
Him: "No, on Vodafone it's £89.95 a month plus the £10 top-up"

just called CPW they said it's a mistake on the website so if you order to collect in store it will get refused as their orders will get verified witht heir instore pricing. He said it was worth giving it a go though (order online for delivery) - ordering online for collection is pointless though.

Surely if you order a couple and then pay, and the transaction all goes through properly, the contract is complete? Or do they need to ship it first?

I cant remember :p

just on ordering now this is in the TC's:

2. PRICE OF EQUIPMENT
2.1. The price of the Equipment shall be our quoted price (which we can change in the case of an error) or, where no price has been quoted (or a quoted price is no longer valid), the price listed in our published price list current at the date we accept your order. For the avoidance of doubt, the date that we accept your order shall be the date that the Equipment is despatched.
2.2. The cost (if any) of fitting the Equipment is only included in the price if the written quotation or invoice specifically states that this is the case.
2.3. If we deliver the Equipment to you, you may incur an additional charge.

Does that mean if I pay £17 quid, they can bump it up for me??

I've no hope at all any of us will get a phone for 17 quid but it;s worth a shot. They are under no obligation to sell anyone anything if I recall correctly; I just hope I don;t end up getting billed £80!

That would be a bit of karma to those who got greedy and ordered loads, a nice empty bank account for at least a while. ;)

My guess is they will just cancel the orders. As far as i can tell my card has not been billed yet, just been to a cash machine and its reading as if its not been done anyway.
