My windscreen has a massive crack in it, it's heated so will cost £450 to replace outright, as I'm TPFT (more fool me).

I've just upped my coverage from TPFT to Fully comp (today).

Can I wait a couple of weeks and claim? Would they pay out?

Yea of course, give it a month then bang in the claim.

You could do but it might look a bit suspicious though.

Alternatively you could look for a windscreen at a scrappy.

Someone could tip off the IFB using the name & address returned from a WHOIS enquiry on your personal domain ;)

You didn't answer it though. I honestly don't know if it's technically classed as 'fraud' or not :).

I would assume it to be, if you lie about your health to get life insurance then die of a known condition they can refuse to pay out so I would assume its the same with this.

Sorry yes i suppose it is fraud, but i can live with that as part of my premium is made up of lots of other peoples lies and im now past caring because insurance in this country is ****ed and never getting better.

Thats why i dont care how much Mike from the Isle of White claims, get on with it.

If that's how you want to describe someone that dislikes subsidising other people's poor risk management decisions with my own insurance premiums, then yes, I'm a waaaaambulance.

Other people's fraud is one of the reasons our insurance premiums are so high in this country.... that and our road insurance system is inherently flawed.

I would be very tempted to up it to fully comp and claim... it is most definitely illegal... but insurance is daily robbery to begin with... I would feel rather good about doing it :P

But maybe I'm just a bad person...

Hasn't there been cases of this going on peoples claims records and them not being to happy about it, doesn't effect your no claims bonus, but still goes down as as a claim against you and effects any future premium.

Someone could tip off the IFB ....

Who will do exactly sod all, i've emailed them twice and spent nearly an hour on the phone to them giving registrations, address, names and dates of a fronted policy, fraudulent NCB, details of a fraudulent claim, etc, etc.

Sum result? Naff all, fraudster gets paid out, policies still in force.
