Looking to spend around £40 - £50. Would like a decent headset with microphone. Any recomendations?
Also, I've seen from some of the desk pictures, some of you have a desk edge clip to hold them. Where can such novel items be purchased?! :)

If you can push your budget up a tad you can get a good pair of headphones + a seperate mic which will be head and shoulders above any headset. I personally use some Goldring DR150s which cost around £48 and then the Speedlink Clip mic which OcUK sell for £7 or so. An excellent setup really and as I say you won't find anything close headset wise.

If you can push your budget even further the NS1000s are stunning, they cost ~£60 and then you need a couple of extras plus the mic which would bring you to around £85. I know it's a fair bit above budget but it really is worth it.

The holder you refer to is a Sennheiser one which costs stupid amounts of money. The stand for my DR150s cost me around £4, such good value I bought 3 (DR150s, DR50s and DT770s) :p

Both are cool, but if wish to go for other company products, Razerzone gaming products are good too, especially, the headphones, keyboards and sound systems.

What happened to them? Mine lasted for 2 years and then one day I tripped the wire and it broke :(. Apart from that a great headset

I had mine for about that time and believe me, of what I have read we are fortunate! Some don't even last that long. One day they just stopped working. I also think the mic could have been a lot better.

Another vote for the sibera v2 they are lovely for a headset.. Goldring ns1000s give a overall better sound.

I used to have a fati1ty or however it's spelt it lasted a good while it's only good for gaming through, unlike the sibera v2

I use to have a pair myself, a decent set but they don't last long.

Agreed, mine have started to go down the drain now, more noticably when playing CSS and talking on Skype. Im personally looking for a wireless headset, however nobody seems to be posting on my thread :D guess ill steal other peoples threads and see what other people have been recommending for gaming headsets as i always use mine when gaming.

If you want wireless you won't get better than the Logitech G930. I bought a set the other day and they're amazing. I swear they sound just as good as my HD595s.

*edit* Just seen from your other thread you have a max of £40. :)

I found the Fatal1ty headset to be very uncomfortable - nice sound, but clamped like a vice to my head.

The Medusa 5.1s used to be excellent, but they're fragile and I've gone through a few sets - even cannibalising the olds sets for spares. However the newer versions have much worse sound quality that the old sets, in particular the centre speakers sound very different in quality to the front and rears.

I sent my last pack of Medusas back to the supplier because they were faulty on delivery (one of the speakers was broken) and after asking on here I bought some Goldring DR150's.

I'm very happy with them, the sound quality is astounding, especially when fed through an amp (I'm using an old Midi Hi-Fi) and the surround sound through dolby headphone on DVD players or XMSS 3D on my X-Fi card is pretty good, though the soundstage could be wider.

I too found this, I throught they were bad for music cos they was tuned for bass, and I listen to rock, metal etc
