MS Cancelled Alan Wake on PC!!!

to be honest, think Alan Wake on the xbox is a spiff game, don't see any reason to bring it to PC personally. ;)

Stuff sells at least 10x more on Xbox360. Probably thought it wasn't worth the cost of QA and Support just to have 50-100k sales.

Everyone pretty much guessed this anyway its crazy why MS continue to favour the X360 over PC when PC has so much more potential..........

Making money is what they want to do... the PC is not a heavily profitable system like the 360.

I can see Steam/Valve adopting Open GL game devs and running away from Microsoft in PC gaming terms. Titles could be seamlessly releases on Windows, Mac and Linux. The reason most of us here use Windows is gaming, right? It certainly isn't for our mental health (though 7 is fab) :D

Roll on new consoles

PC gaming has been on the decline for a few years now and it's a shame. You have to really like certain titles to justify a decent graphics card these days.

the reason PC gaming is on the decline is the people, never happy no matter what developers do. least thats what I am noticing more and more these days, thats the shame, 'cause I for one can't blame people for moving away from the PC. Alan Wake is a brilliant game and I would truly love to see it in all its glory on the PC, without the console limitations, but I can guarantee people would complain 'it plays like a console game...'.

7 is fab, but if I could game on Linux I'd go back to dual booting. I like having my cake and eating it :p

Tbh after playing this on the Xbox i don't really see any reason to now bring it to PC. The gameplay really wasn't complex enough unless you particularly wanted mouse aiming. Would look considerably better on pc with a great atmosphere but not something i'd preorder...

sounds like you havent been gaming very long if you had you would realise why a lot of people complain, pc games 10 years ago were more advanced and complicated than they are now, everything is beeing made for simpletons

Didn't even know it was coming to PC. :p

hope that's a joke!

In case it wasn't, this was the next big PC exclusive game about 5 years ago. Then it became PC and Xbox 360 and then Xbox 360 only.

I've recently bought an Xbox 360 and Alan Wake. It's quite good but it does run and look fine, I don't think it would be much better on the PC. It was a cutting edge game ....5/6 years ago.

Nah I wasn't joking brah, I generally though it was an Xbox exclusive all along.

At least I didn't have to face the disappointment of realising it wasn't coming to PC. :p

Well here it is being demo'd on a quad-core CPU (which was a lot of money then!)
