freezer 7 pro and memory slot 1

Ive just baught an artic freezer 7 pro heat sink the problem I have is that it will cover memory slot 1 the mother board is a msi 870-c45 and I currently have my ram in slot 1 and 2 in duel channel will it be ok to use slots 3 and 4 instead.

it will be fine, however with mine i just bent the bottom 4 fins up slightly so it would fit the ram (different motherboard)

I did consider bending the fins myself if it would be a problem using slots 3 and 4 thanks for the reply

My akasa venom is HUGE! Totally covers slots 1/2

How odd for your MB though. Dual channel is usally 1/3 2/4

My 880GM-UD2H is the same heatsink covers Slot 1 ended up using slots 3 and 4 no problem.

I know I originally put it in slots 1 and 3 but i showed up single channel so after a little investigation on the internet found out the channel 1 is slots 1 and 3 and channel 2 is 2 and 4 im not sure thats for all msi boards though.

Indeed. It's pretty obvious and has been for years. Most new boards sport that setup. Colour coded slots. e.g. my MSI board slot 1/3 is black and 2/4 is blue.
