How do :)

Right, i'm fed up of safari being a load of pap and i cant be doing with the hassle of syncing across browsers so i might try an online bookmark service such as delicious...

So my fellow tinterweb users, which is the best one?

Don't you have MobileMe?

I love the built in bookmark sync. Add to iPhone.. boom.. appears on Mac.

I do indeed, but Chrome kicks the living crap out of Safari... I just find it beachballs all the time and has nowhere near as slick an interface.

Gonna try out xmarks and see how it does cuz in theory, a bookmark added to Chrome will end up on my iphone anyway through safari - worth a go to see how solid it is.

That or FirefoxSync, used Xmarks until it almost shut down and move to Sync but not bothered moving back yet - wondering if it is worth it as I get the firefoxsync app on the iphone free whereas you have to pay for the xmarks one.

why would you need an app on the iphone? 1) things don't integrate directly with safari a la 1password and 2) if something syncs to the desktop safari then it propagates through anyhow no?

The only "problem" I've had is that it beachballs a fair bit... plus feature wise (just things like proper extensions and the fact that while you're closing tabs they dont resize :D) chrome is just bucket loads better...

So, heres what I've done, and it works really, really well...

• On my work computer (iMac) which is always on in the office for the purpose of offsite backing up at 3am and the like I have installed Chrome, Xmarks for Chrome, and Xmarks for Safari.

• Then on every other mac, I just install Chrome, and switch on the (very solid, and built in) Google Sync to sync my bookmarks and settings etc (but I don't sync extensions since I dont want to run Xmarks on every other computer apart from my work one).

• Now when I make an amendment to say the Chrome bookmarks on my MBA, it syncs lightning fast to my work Chrome, which in turn syncs to Safari via Xmarks, which in turn pushes any changes out to all my other Safari's, including on my iPhone ;)

All in all, this works ace, and doesn't require any additional software and extensions except for 2 installs (Chrome and Safari) of Xmarks on 1 computer ;)

Bargain :)

I won't claim it's the best, but I've been using Google Bookmarks and found it has met my needs.
