Crysis 2 is another console port, no DX11!!!!

What? You asked him to list two more games that have a high player count on consoles and he did. How many big blockbuster PC FPS games from the last few years have 64 player support? Not that many either.

He's entirely right though. How does having more players automatically make a game better? Can you imagine Counter Strike with 64 players? It would be rubbish.

Did i say having higher player count makes a game better?

learn how to ****ing read. re-read my posts from the previous page before jumping into conclusions.

i wont bother repeating myself, learn to read first and then reply.

as for the other guy, the list is good and not discontinuing it, im just saying 360 games dont have high player count games because xbox live is p2p mp while ps3 uses dedicated servers on many of there games.

Also, i bet its the reason why BF3 is only 24 players on consoles because it will be too much for DICE to increase player count for PS3 console fans only and not 360 fans as the 360 fanboys will start crying.

Thats for a latter discussion but brining back to my point. RE READ MY ****ING POSTS .

someone else pretty much SUMMED up my points ie technology can enchance gameplay and technology on consoles stays the SAME for X amount of years. Hench why PC's are "usually" the platform that tried to push innovation for games way ahead of console games. Which brings me BACK on topic on WHY loads of pc gamers are NOT satisfied with console ports.

GOT IT? read PROPERLY please:rolleyes:

Your point? Ok, the last, best multiplayer FPS i've played was killzone 2, that only supports 16 player online but the maps and objectives are designed to make that work. It's fast paced, close quarters combat and the small player count is part of that. Just like Counter Strike in fact.

The 360 is every bit as powerful as the PS3, it's just a limitation of the way Xbox live functions which is p2p. Future games have been mentioned that support dedicated servers and so with that you will find larger playercount multiplayer games will be released.

Again you're just slagging consoles without actually providing me with any explanation of how PCs are the 'only way' to innovate and will always be the 'cutting edge' of every element of gaming (i agree with graphics as a PC is much more powerful, but you don't need a powerhouse machine in order to do everything that is needed to make an excellent game).

wtf. i stopped reading when you said killzone 2 was only 16 players. it was 32

Yea ok you played killzone 2.

YET again a person who has FAILED to read any of my posts from the previous page

read the post just above this one.

Apologies, it was 32 player, still less than the 64 you demanded i list and still far more enjoyable than those 64+ player games...

Read it, maybe you should consider that your PREVIOUS post WAS not worded TOO well as two PEOPLE have mis-READ it.

no, TWO people have not bothered reading it as my post was understood and corrected by another person yet you still insist. proves you did not read my previous posts AT all. its not as if it made those points a week ago. its on the PREVIOUS PAGE OF THIS THREAD

:rolleyes:OBLIGATORY CAPITAL LETTERS AND ROLLING EYES POST IN CRYSIS THREAD:rolleyes:

At the end of the day everyone was going to moan about this game anyway. If it brought in loads of advancements everyone would complain they couldn't run it on full settings, and because they didn't everyone is moaning that the graphics suck....

+1 totally agree

in pc gaming or console

i'm confused thought this thread was about crysis 2?????

Nah the crysis 2 thread is elsewhere, tis still on the first page. If this was the official crysis 2 thread i wouldn't have allowed myself to go this far off topic. This thread is about how crysis 2 doesn't have DX11, therefore is a console port, therefore sucks by default. I figure debating the differences and merits between the platforms is still within the realms of the topic, and anyway, thread drift is necessary for debate.

I'm asking for a list of recent times where the PC has innovated more than consoles in recent years. I was asked to give examples of where consoles have innovated, which i have, yet still haven't seen any examples of where the PC has innovated above and beyond consoles, other than maybe portal... which came out on consoles too now i think about it.

Well put. I was tempted to go back and bring in some quotes from the official Crysis thread when it was released to make a point that no one is ever pleased, but clearly that isn't necessary as many still remember well enough.

Jebus, calm down love.

I still haven't got a clue what half your posts say. Your sentences are pretty confusing at the best of times.

I've re-read all your posts on the previous page and each time I've quoted you, you seem to re-construct your point differently.

You seem to say that technology will generally lead on the PC (no argument), and that is "Hench (hence?) why PC's are "usually" the platform that tried to push innovation".

This is where I disagree. Technology and innovation are far from the same thing. You can create innovation without any need to change technology.

I'm asking for a list of recent times where the PC has innovated more than consoles in recent years. I'd say Portal is a null point. It was developed for the Consoles at the same time as the PC, it's not a port either way and was released on all platforms simultaneously.

In all honesty for a DX9 game the demo looks quite nice and my aging 8800GTS has no problem running it on the middle default setting however I want to spend £200 on a DX11 GPU but whats the point if its not going to get used?

Also, how can a game that is released 4 years after its previous version not look as good? 4 whole years and we've gone backwards in gaming tech and why? Well we all know why, the money is in the consoles and that is that. Even the suit has been console raped so the kids can get to grips with it, and its no exactly rocket science in Crysis in the first

If it doesnt ship with DX11 I wont be buying it as i'm still get a new GPU regardless, as soon as it has DX11 functionality i'll buy it

i have to say atleast johnny makes me laugh. How can a man be so annoyed at someone on the net, over a game, about a fanboy argument. Streeteh, don't bother wasting your time, its just making him madder. On the other hand its getting even funnier with the constant swearing, rolley eyes and caps.

It's a totally different style of game tho it's not all pretty trees and beaches anymore. i mean how nice can yo umake a rooftop or pier look.

if they'd have still used the open environment from crysis and warhead people would still moan.

inevitably crysis 2 was and always will be one of those games that can't win,
Why because lets put it into perspective.

crysis release it crippled practically everyones system, made it alomost unplayable for a lot of users, 3 years later were finally getting the tech to play it maxxed out with decent frame rates.

move forward and crysis 2 is upon us and everyone is moaning. Why you asked, for the exact opposite reason they were moaning years ago. Now the game dosen't cripple their system it automatically sucks.

Personally i think the multiplayer demo is rater tasty, especially when you get to level 5 and can customize your gear. The holo projector is a great piece of kit and i've often found myself on the receiving end of it. The graphics while no crysis warhead are still good and suit the multiplayer environment fine. TBH how many people will play multiplayer in DX 11 if there getting sub 30 FPS i won't be thats for sure.

Crytek knew no matter what they did they would be hard pressed to surpass the original crysis. And ultimately they are a company set on a goal of making profits. Make a multiplatform game from the same engine without having to change or have seperate dev teams and your on to a money spinner.

It all makes sense and i'm still getting it, i'm not going to simply shun a game out the door based on 1 multiplayer demo that tbh a lot of forum member who tried it and said **** it after 1 match really have problems. Like i said it comes into it's own at level 5.

A guy earlier was on about stealth suit and camping for kills. That is not a problem in crysis 2 because you can simply press the N key and use your nano vision to highlight stealthed enemies, you can also use locators beacon or map blip(when enemies stealth they show for a few seconds on your radar) sorry i can't remember the in game names for the items :)

I've really enjoyed it and gave my honest opinion, if you don't like it you know where the back button is, no need to flame.

Well said. When Crysis first came out people whined to hell and back because they missed the point of what Crytek where trying to achieve with it. A game that scales with new hardware as it comes out, rather than being maxable on existing machines.

If Crysis 2 had done the same, people would still be whining just as much.

like streetah said tempted to dig up the original crysis thread

Yep, people were bitching like little girls in the original Crysis thread, it's no different now. There are convenient similarities to the bogeyman (Call of Duty) that makes it so easy for them to mindlessly slate the game, but if you had any brain cells at all, you'd see past all the petulant bickering and whining and enjoy the game for what it really is.

The game's fine. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simples!
