iPhone 3gs 32GB or Nexus S?

Are you 12 or foreign? Either way your posts are impossible to read.

You asked for advice, the majority have recommended the Nexus. Why are you then reading random reviews from idiots on eBay?

And is there any reason why you're buying outright rather than on contract?

im 18, this is how people type isnt it? (unless yor're complaining about grammer etc.)

and as stated its been a while since ive ever bought a phone. so its not common that i bump into reviews like that,..

yes, most recommended the Nexus S, but didnt really give much detail about why. 0.0?

reason im getting PAYG is because contract seems a lot, expensive? and ive never had a phone on contract. =/
or maybe i should start to?

its basically for college/uni. but i will probably use it often to listen to music/movies/internet.

e.g. like 'reflux' said:

yes. hardware is better on Nexus. but its 16GB max (15GB really from my friend whos got the Nexus S), no extended memory (for £400-450),
where as 3gs has 32GB (twice the storage) for £300-350

so u tell me..whats the best choice. and why.

Its newer. It has better hardware. Its battery is similar if not better than a second hand 3GS. Its software is more advanced than the slightly laggy updated iOS that runs on the 3GS devoid of some iP4 features still.

Contracts aren't really expensive as you have to remember you get all the minutes/data and texts thrown in, if you use them, it doesn't work out too badly unless you get a really bad deal. Same as anything else really.

Isn't it obvious then? If 16GB storage isn't going to be enough, why are you even considering the Nexus S? There are other phones out there than just those two. Plenty are better, and plenty are worse.

You are not going to get a phone to watch movies on that will have a long and fruitful battery life. Nearly all the new phones will crash and burn if you start having the screen on all the time playing video. Simple fact.

I'd honestly say a 32GB iPhone 4 is your best (and most expensive) option. Excellent quality, excellent screen, very good battery, superb camera and video recording, iPod = awesome, software you'll like, etc.

The HTC Desire HD would also be worth a look, as despite people complaining about the battery its actually quite ok and it has expandable storage (remember, at extra cost) and decent enough hardware.

Some phones for you to look at then, and please, read the reviews I've linked -

Google Nexus S - Review

Samsung Galaxy S (A Nexus S with expandable storage!) - Review

HTC Desire HD - Review

and lastly, an iPhone4 and 3GS review so you can read about those if you want to.

And... breathe. Please no more stupid questions.

iPhone 3GS + iOS 4.2.1 = smooth as.

Good for you, everyone is the same... ;)

My point is as far as I am aware there are conditions where the 3GS may lag and the 4 will not. I can only assume that is down to hardware in one way or another.

The 4 is still better by a country mile anyway :p

Didn't think you had any.

So you are saying that all apps run exactly the same on the 3GS and iPhone 4? All of them? Not just maybe the ones you use?

Sure :)

Also, I love how I post a large and hopefully semi-useful response and we never hear from the OP again :p

I am talking performance, not looks. I expect Angry Birds to look better on iPhone 4 as it has a better display/higher resolution.

I'm talking performance too. You do realise "looks" encompasses performance seeing as the main way of judging performance is by sight?

from google search:

An "Internet troll" or "Forum Troll" is a person who posts outrageous message to bait people to answer. Trolls delight in sowing discord on the forums. A troll is someone who inspires flaming rhetoric, someone who is purposely provoking and pulling people into flaming discussion. Flaming discussions usually end with name calling and a flame war.
