Quiet gfx card needed - which one?

My recently built setup is an AMD 955, Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H 760G mobo, 4 Gb Geil ram, Bequiet 530W PSU, F3 ITb etc, etc.

This rig will only be used for occasional gaming until I get my SB system built, after which it will only be used for PhotoShop, office duties, surfing etc.

I'm looking at fitting either an Nv 460 or an ATI 5850 which, I most likely swap to the SB rig when it's built as, I probably won't even need a gfx card for this machine for what it would be used for.. both the above gfx cards seem to offer a similar performance so really, it's all down to which one is the quietest ?. It won't be OC'd and I'd prefer a quiet card.

Any suggestions as to which is the most quiet or, is there any benefit of choosing one over the other which I hadn't thought about?

Thanks for the reply..is there much difference in performance between the 768mb version and the 1gb version?

Depends what resolution you game at tbh. 1920x1080+ you'd be better going for the 1gb, any lower then save your money and go for the 768

Presently I don't game but it's planned for the future so, maybe better to get the 1gb card would be better in the long run as I'd just have to maybe buy another one if it wasn't quite fast enough which would cost more money in the long run.

Well I've set my budget at around £125-150.00 - the 5850 or 460 both seem to be the best value in that price range with the 5850 maybe just edging it in performance - it's more down to which would run quietest and maybe more cool.

I would presume that either would handle most games reasonably well - would that be right?
( I've never purchased a gfx card before so it's all a bit new and I just want it for occasional gaming but, I don't want one that struggles with average games! )
