do you buy series box sets?

Band of Brothers
The Pacific
Will & Grace
Friends
House - Watching this atm 2 more episodes left on Season 3 (got the boxset 1-6 for £60)
Star Trek Voyager
Family Guy

I buy boxset if at a good price.

Stargate SG1 waited till sub £20. (still need to get 10 and ark of truth on Blu)
Simpsons (1-9)
Firefly (I never watched on tv and was highly rated) (need to buy BD)
Ally Mcbeal (Watched when I was in secondary school and loved it tho its a dirty lil secret)
Fringe S1 BD loved the series
X-Files £50 for whole series (I never got into it properly when it was only saw eps here and there)
Friends as above
Millienium same as x-files
Band of Brothers BD
LOST also got most of the BD boxsets.

Waiting for (and maybe for a long time)

Stargate Atlantis on blu-ray was announced then MGM changed from Sony to Fox for distrubution (Atlantis among Sony's first Blu-ray offerings). It is inevitable it will happen. Just when. just have to make do with HD mkv's.

But then my hard drives are full up of other TV series's aswell. eg CSI and Cold Case which I have only just started watching today and my mum loves (and been buying 2xindividual boxsets for b-day and x-mas sorts problems out for few years)
Cold Case you can't buy on DVD/BD either due to warner not paying for music royalty for DVD's. :|

Antar Bolaeisk - I thought they origainlly did 10 as fat version then also a thin version.

Quite possibly but the price for Season 10 stayed quite high for a long while which meant I didn't get it until ages after release as I generally refused to pay more than £20 per season. By the time I did get it only the half size box was available.

I do have a fair few box sets I suppose as something to watch when there's nothing good on TV but I don't tend to go out of my way to collect them and I've got a few I was given which I've yet to watch at all.

I'll pick them up if its a good series and its on offer, otherwise I'm not overly fussed. Got Heroes 1-3 Blu Ray for £17 in a sale and bought it purely on second hand opinions - any more and I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

Just depends whats around I guess.

I have quite a few season boxsets of various shows, mainly because I don't like watching things one episode a week and prefer instead to marathon through them. Also some stuff I like isn't broadcast in the UK so the only way to see it (without doing something naughty) is to import a boxset ... for instance Sports Night (by Aaron Sorkin of West Wing fame).

I remember one of the earliest series of boxsets I got were the French releases of the early series of Friends (as at the time we were only getting singles releases and the french releases were a lot cheaper and gave you a season at a time (and had English audio)).

Dexter is the only TV series which has thoroughly engrossed me enough to go out and buy the boxset and I own series 1-4. They were quite well priced as well and I have thoroughly enjoyed every episode.

I also got Band of Brothers in a HMV sale, which was an impulse buy and I havent really sat down and watched it yet, even though I know I should :/

24 is something i have never seen a single episode of :/

I think it's really something you've got to watch in order to properly enjoy it, I've tried watching a few episodes as friends have tried to tell me how great it is and while it's ok without the context of seeing it from the start to know what is meant to be going on I suspect I missed a lot of the enjoyment.

Very rarely have i bought the indidividual season boxsets. I've only done that with BSG and SGU, as they were airing at the time. That being said, when i looked back on them, the price to episode ratio is abysmal, SGU Season 1 was £45 for 20 45 minute (abouts) episodes.

It's for that reason why i'll only really look into buying the complete series sets now. Picked up Lost Blu Ray for £95, so much better value. Series box sets are by far the more cost effective option.

I've got the BSG Blu-ray boxset. I'd like to get Breaking Bad, Mad Men, but I think I might as well wait until these series' are finished and cancelled so I can get everything in one package. Its a pain to have seperate sets, also it can be annoyingly difficult to find Blu-ray complete sets.

Yes I do as its much cheaper than a TV licence.

The way I see it a TV licence will buy you what 5? Seasons a year. That’s not even factoring in a monthly TV subscription to Sky or Virgin. So I skip the lisince and sub and just buy boxed seasons.

i've been searching for the Deadwood Blu ray box set for a few days now.

Region A only, best deal i can find is £100 and i dont know if i'll get stung with import duty.

so tempting
