iPhone 3GS O2 contract up in a couple of months - on the lookout for a new smartphone

As title, got about 2 months I think left. Really like the iPhone and I've been using it in many ways not possible without the jail break so I've been thinking about skipping the 4 and going Android. My main concerns would be build quality, screen and usability

What's out there at the mo and coming soon? Don't really keep track of mobile tech these days

The highlight so far...

Samsung Galaxy S 2 (May/June)

sAMOLED+ 4.3" screen (the first non-pentile OLED! Fuuuuuuu)
Exynos 1Ghz Dual core A9, 4 core Mail gpu and 1GB ddr2.
8.48mm thick
8mp camera with 1080p recording (quality looks great) + 2mp ffc

Others worth looking into.
Motorola Atrix
SE Xperia Play
LG Optimus 3D/2X (quality not quite as good as above)

Wait for the Iphone 5 since you still have 2 months left, will only be 4-8 extra to wait until it comes out from your contract end date.

If you don't wait you may regret buying into a contract with an Android phone, however you could flog your Iphone 3GS now for a couple of hundred and pick up an HTC Desire for about £160-180 second hand to see if you like Android.

Or just get the iPhone 4, or wait for the iPhone 5.

I know as soon as I sign on the dotted line for a 4 the 5 will be released lol. Got a good rate on my 3GS contract (free handset, £40pm, unlimited data and more minutes than id ever need, 18 instead of 24) which I believe will apply to my next upgrade? Wife has the 4 and I have to say it isn't THAT much better bar video and led flash... Mobile companies should have courtesy phones you can take for a month before deciding!

As a very rough guide the 5 will be released end of July/August at the earliest, so it could well be worth getting a 4 now as you can always change it if you really wanted.

if you get a 4 then you'll still be able to sell it for a lot when the 5 comes out.
also the 4 is miles better than the 3gs, especially with the latest updates.

The iPhone 4 was released on June 24th, it wasn't until early September that networks had stock properly available, it was pretty hard to get hold of one for many people through July/August.

You really cant tell, as I said it was a very rough guide
