6990 is coming!

6970CF cost £549.98
6990 maybe £600

its either this review is false or the 67% improvement over 580GTX is ********. From the above pics, I see two 6970 put together.

Thats all well and good, but ATI don't have any 3D solutions for they're cards. Most of that power will get wasted :P

Wha?

You don't think that what's essentially 6970 Crossfire will be 67% faster than a single GTX580?

Try reading some reviews.

Troll Alert!

Everyone knows nvidia has better 3d support than ATI right now, it may change in the future.

I had a 5870 Vapor-X back in december and it was a nightmare to get 120hz running on my Samsung 2233RZ 3D monitor. Even though it did output 120hz there was a lot of screen flickering, due to bad support for 3D.

Switched over to a GTX560Ti and no problems whatsoever. If ATI's 3D support was as good as nvidia's I'd have kept my 5870, so don't start with the troll nonsense. :)

Can we get back on topic re benchmarks and the 6990 NOT 3D please?!

Can you post a list of what we can and can not post about, as it may serve to help us not to annoy you. ;)

Back on topic, nice looking card. Just hope the price is not too high.

Hello, we are talking 6000 series here NOT 5000 series.

Tom Hardware on HD3D: "Bottom line: with the Radeon HD 6000-series and HD3D, AMD is now offering a viable alternative in the 3D stereoscopic race."

You are clearly oblivious to read the minor details.

"It may change in the future" alas better driver support for 3D.

Please post a list of what can be discussed so we don't upset you, as Stanners suggested.

i cant see why a single dual card would be more expensive than two singles.

defeats the point does it not ?

PFFT, I'll buy this in about 2 years when the price has dropped to £50 :P
My 4890 still does the Job, not great but it does it.

Not really considering any secondary card in either Crossfire or SLI doesn't actually have it's full capabilities used.

Would be ideal for someone who wants to quad crossfire I guess, plus less power drawage from 1 dual card I guess?

Aside from the fact that Stereo 3D is IMO for the most part a waste of time, its laughable to compare H3D or iz3D to 3D Vision - no one thats actually spent any time playing with the various solutions actually would do so.

I'd say those benchmark numbers look about correct, tho if nVidia does manage to get their dual GPU card anywhere close to the 580 speeds then the 6990 doesn't look like it will be overly competitive on performance... tho more realistically if its closer to 2x GF110 then its probably gonna be hard fought.
