OcUK MTB MEET GLENTRESS APRIL 16th-17th

Is that a high level to u??lol sounds like its gonna be a good meet with loads of us going.
I think im gona have a spare seat or two heading up from london if people are on my way i can offer a lift.

PurpleHead - I'd be very grateful if I could reserve a seat :) I'll of course pay my share in petrol and buy you lunch on the way there and back - only fair :)

That should be fine, where in London do u live?? im just north in stevenage at the mo but may be moving in a month to either Hemel or (which may mean i can't give you a lift) Bristol. ill keep you informed. Don't worry my burger in take has dropped massively to none over the last 6 mth!lol Weescott used to eat all mine anyway!! his suspension settings are at the max weight they can handle!!!

After IC's latest videos I'd like to point out that you don't really need MAD SKILLZ to ride Glentress/Innerleithen :D I'm crap and managed to get round with only two falls :p

can't wait :D
need to get the all clear from the docs on monday then i can start training again
and ive just completed my Giant Reign build thats taken me 6 months to complete, gotta spend the weekend bleeding the brakes and setting up the suspension :)

Sorry for the late reply.

I live in Manor Park E12 (very close to the east end of the north circular). Bristol is doable for me as I can take some more time off and use the opportunity to visit my sister. She lives in Downend.

This trip is approaching awfully fast.
Would it be possible to have a list of items to take? I'm bricking it over the rides, the most intense MTB riding I've done so far are W2 and The Wall at Afan, hope this is enough! I went out to Swinley Forest again over the weekend and I'm going to Aston Hill in a couple of weeks.

I also have a Contour HD GPS now so I should be able to capture some good videos of the trails :)

Bike
Helmet
Pads
Gloves
Sleeping bag
Riding shoes
Camelbak
Inner tubes
Tools
Spare parts (brake pads etc.)
Shower stuff & Towel
Spare clothes
Energy food & drink
Breakfast stuffs

All I can think of at the minute.

^ Whats the plan for cooking arrangements?

I have a nice compact single burner gas stove I can bring along, just dont want to bring it and find everyone's brought a cooker!

Breakfast might come in a tin this time. Slumming it with the rest of you bums :(

Yes don't forget a towel unless you want to borrow one of IC's with it's plethora of suspious 'stains' :(

Only joking, but no, don't forget a towel

uvarvu - don't brick it over the riding, the pace is really relaxed, any technical features at Innerleithen are avoidable, I don't know about the Glentress Red (others will add more info I imagine) - but any jumps/rocks will be avoidable. It's all very flowy and fun really :) If you're not very fit then don't worry you can chat to me bringing up the rear :D

For food last time - I brought a big bag of pasta, some cheesy sauce packets, tin of tuna, I ate well on the first night, someone may be bringing a stove but it's not essential as there are cooking facilities.

We need stoves so bring one along, I recommend everyone ones brings food for breakfasts and something for Friday night. On Saturday night we will have a curry again :)

And me :D

I'll be taking some Scottish culinary delights for breakfast. :D Purple Head has stoves. So do my pals that are coming down with me.

In the camelback will be a fruit & nut bar, Haribo, and a Banana.

There are chicken runs on the Red and Black runs at GT & Inners. Nothing to worry about.

I might buy a couple of army ration packs, easy to carry and then everything is covered. I'll bring a stove along too.

Pro tip: Avoid this rock on Innerleithen Black:
