I admit that nuclear has high up front costs, which is why I wanted to see 50-50 public/private partnerships for the funding to build them.
I'm not arguing against building new nuclear reactors. I'm merely challenging you on aspects which you thought were not true. A lot of work has been done to secure twin reactors at Sizewell C and Hinkley Point C. Wylfa and Oldbury will be quick to follow, Horizon Nuclear Power permitting. In my opinion, the Government will not let anything less than a nuclear station be built on those sites as they are prime sites. Bradwell is up for sale but no body wants it. So I won't be surprised if EDF Energy build two more EPR's on that site. It's going to be an interesting decade as we'll have EPR and AP1000 technologies. The only problem being we have no repository.
