hey i was wondering if components such as graphics card and cpu from america would work in a uk pc and motherboard.

used mainly for gaming

if not aloud can you spec me a good pc

preferably with a 480

There is no such thing as a UK spec component. PSU's and software could be localised however the hardware you buy in the states or far east will work just as well in the UK. It may not have the CE mark.

In the states you do not get the UK/EU warranties, but usually it works well and Americans have good business models and don't upset customers usually.

You need a company that ships worldwide and you may pay additional taxes or duties at import.

As said above they will be fine. However normally on the back of a PSU (near where the power leads plugs in) there is a small switch to run the PSU from either 120V or 240V, so on an American supply it might be pre-set for 120V (if it is just move the switch and hey presto!)

It should say what voltage it's set up for on the switch itself.

a lot of modern PSUs don't have that switch anymore - they are designed to handle from 90v to 250v. However, it's always good to check.. I did once blow up a PSU that way..
