I did the trade, new car content!

It's faster than my 911 for sure, especially since it has the DCT transmission, it shifts very quickly indeed. In the sport mode it literally hammers the gears in giving it pretty relentless acceleration.

I'm suprised, I thought your C2S was tuned.

Nice car, enjoy.

Those exhausts sound gorgeous, I cannot stand the noise of the DCT gearchange though. Just doesn't sound right at all imo.

What noise?

It was but I think it's simply down to the torque. I had a chance to run it against an R8 and a pair of 911's yesterday, one .1 tuned exactly like mine was and a .2 C4S. The only one to keep pace was the C4S, slowest was the R8 and the .1 C2S was just a little behind. I suspect a .2 C2S would show me a clean pair of heels though.

sex

much better :)

I love the Akra system but $4500!? + install of course. That's a set of HRE monoblocks almost.

That's not the order I would have had them in my head...maybe it's the box doing it's business, what was your C2S running?

Was your C4s tuned as well? i never saw the point in tuning Porsches to be honest, sort of good to go as they are i saw them.

I think he means the way it's just a seamless change in noise, whereas with a manual you get a pause in between gears as you change which sounds (to me anyway) much more pleasing.

Thats rubbish when you get older the auto noise is best :)

At its peak it was dyno'd at just a shade over 400 but to be honest I even felt at the time the dyno was optimistic. Probably nearer 385-390 in all honesty. Before I sold it however I took a few of those bits off so it was more around 365-370.

It wasn't quite how I expected it either; I knew the R8 was going to be slower since my .1 saw that off pretty easily and I'm aware the .1 is slower than a DCT M3 however I expected to lose to the C4S PDK. Maybe it was all the weight of the Makassar wood he had in it :p. He did edge ahead of me but it was closer than anticipated. As you said, it's probably just the gearbox doing its thing vs the R8/.1 manuals.

My (family's) C4S is in the UK and no it hasn't been tuned. The C4S you saw in my garage belongs to a good friend over here and no it hasn't been tuned, just a PSE.

In hindsight I'm with you 100% on this. Unless I buy a Turbo next time, I'm not going to bother tuning them again, they're very expensive for very little gain. An exhaust does really help the audio though :)

Fair point but to be honest all I hear on the inside is the chirp of the tyres between 1st 2nd and 3rd and the DCT banging the gears in one after another. If you want to hear a fast shifting box, check out the 458, the gearbox is immense, there's almost no gap what so ever in the acceleration/shifting.

Some better pics now that it has been properly detailed and paint corrected :)

Also an Akraprovic exhaust is on its way!

Looks awsome, good job well done, but you need a better camera, those pictures are full of noise. Still stunning car! :)
