I'm just throwing ideas around in my head right now, but would like to speak to someone who has done it before.

I have a mate who own several properties: I can ask him any specific questions, if you like. He started in the 90s when he left the Royal Marines with a lump sum and has steadily increased the number.

I have a few mates who do it too, tbh, it's a nightmare in most cases, one bit of advice - never ever rent out to the dss people, the council don't pay you for the house, they pay the tenant, when the tenant doesn't pay you and you complain to the council.... the council can't help you as it's the tenants human right to do what they want with the council's money!!

Does that make sense?

You can insist the money comes straight to you, this can be arranged.

Diamond Mark does. Not sure how receptive he'd be to dishing out advice against the competition

I *think* he's based in Kent so he may not be fussed about 'cider country' (presume Somerset?).

He is a really helpful bloke, he took the time to spend half an hour on the phone with me to give me advice about buying an engagement ring, the various diamond grades etc. and excellent advice it was too!
