L.A. Noire how can this not be a PC game?

What do people think of the Noir setting? Do you like it? Reminds me a bit of the Fall of Max Payne graphic novel sections.

I think this looks pretty sweet. The time difference between GTA IV on consoles and GTA IV on PC was about 8 months. Maybe we will see this one day too? Would be nice. If not, they are missing out on a fairly decent market.

Most PC gamers I know now use Steam for everything, so less pirating in that sense. Sure, lot's of people still pirate, but they do on Xbox too. Don't see it as a valid reason to not develop for PC :(

The video doesnt show any of the gameplay, just suspenseful dialogue and the graphics engine.

I suppose that most gamers are that shallow these days, that they see a trailer which gives no indication of the actual gameplay, but they get blown away by the pretty graphics or the story / plot line.

It looks more like a movie than a video game to me. There is absolutely no indication or any way of telling how good or bead the game will be be from watching that trailer, but I've always found that no game ever turns out to be as good as it was hyped up to be prior to its release.

I couldnt care less if this game is being released on the PC or not, it looks like a typical cookie cutter shooter game which doesnt interest me at all.

I personally want Red Dead Redemption to come out on PC as well, but I doubt it will. I'm trying to imagine the views with the increased graphics and view distance that the PC can handle.

It seems however that Rockstar don't produce games for the PC any more after they did quite badly with the PC version of GTA 4.

Can you imagine the job the modding community would have done with a PC version of RDR?? This would have been a thing of beauty. Real shame Rockstar haven't released it on our platform of choice.

LA Noire does look like an awesome game though. I think the bruv will be picking it up for PS3 so I'll have a bash once he's done.

The whole video is made of in game footage and there are also a couple of actual gameplay clips in there.

Also, your last post: seriously? From what's been shown this will be anything but a typical FPS game. Come on.

Based on the trailer, it looked like it.

Based on the videos I just watched on Rockstar's website, no it isnt just a shooter game. Its more like a detective movie turned into a video game.

Wow really good facial animations! :)

Looking forward to it - but it looks just like Rockstars version of Mafia :p

Yeah I spotted 3 actors, pretty good animation.

Not sure why ppl arnt liking the game it looks awesome and a lot better than mafia 2 in gameplay, story and gfx and effects.

Did you watch the video the 2nd video at all? Mafia II has better graphics, and fun gameplay. Noire it just seems you go and question people, and press a few buttons depending if they are lying, or telling the truth.... boring.

strange rockstar going the no PC route and EA seeming to endorse PC

"The user base is gigantic," he says. "PC retail may be a big problem, but PC downloads are awesome. … The margins are much better and we don’t have any rules in terms of first party approvals. From our perspective, it's an extremely healthy platform. … It's totally conceivable it will become our biggest platform."

Sometimes I wonder if comments like these would be different if said title was released on PC on release, as in, is this just some sort of hating on non-PC title games.

On topic, L.A Noire looks really nice, not sure if I'd like it though I want it purely for the looks :D It will come on PC a year or 2 later I'm sure, as rockstar tend to do.
I bought it on X360 to see what the fuss was about. Sold it a few days later its just GTA4 in the wild west. Everything I hate about GTA4 having poor gameplay applies to RDR its just a different setting & a higher FPS as less detail to render. The gameplay consists of the same old GTA style missions which are boring very quickly & RDR has a lot of these so it takes ages to complete. This hides the shallow nature of it & you cannot save anywhere so it becomes tedious having to replay the same old section to be able to then save your progress. All the PC version would offer is a sharper picture the loading times would be like GTA4 virtually no different from the console version as its a fixed loading time.

The last few Rockstar games of console origin that did make it over to the pc seem to be poorly ported and not at all optimized.

RDR and LA do look interesting, but I don't want to play crappy half hearted efforts.

Surely it depends if the scene is being rendered in real-time by the engine? Not all cut-scenes are pre-rendered, so there's nothng stop them being in-game footage.

Unique animations (motion capture etc, especially the facial stuff in la) change them hugely even if just rendered in the engine

PC gamers are missing out here, you'll probably get it later on. Still, you could always just buy a console, its not like they are THAT expensive and with a PS3 you can double it up as a Blu-ray player for example.

Its certainly not a game everyone will love and at times it can be quite repetitive but its something new and enjoyable :)

Some of the comments in here are actually quite hilarious.
