argh GTX 460 768 MSI Cyclone discontinued

need some help or advice to locate one of these - i waned to go SLI but to my horror i can only find the 1 gb ones about the 768 are discontinued

any help appreciated.

You can SLI any GTX460 768Mb with any other GTX460 768MB btw doesn't have to be another MSI Cyclone tho obviously its nicer to have a matching pair.

one question - if i go non identical cards in SLI i assume i will struggle to overclock the cards together

on this point if i can source two identical MSI cards can i expect to overclock these together using the afterburner for a further performance boost ?

I don't think identical cards in sli will make any difference tbh just set them both to the same stock speeds and take it from there

if you have a 786mb one at tho moment make sure you get another and not the 1gb+ because they have different memory bus's or sommet like that, like the 1gb is 256 whilst the 786mb isn't

Do you NEED an immediate upgrade though? To be honest, unless you are gaming at 1680 res or lower, I don't think it would worth going SLI and you'd be better of make do with your current card till the end of the year, and then sell it and upgrade to a single 28nm GPU card for around £200. Or just sell your GTX460 768MB and grab the Gigabyte GTX480 SE on offer for around £202 right now, provided that you got a good enough PSU (i.e. a decent 600W or above PSU).

ive gone for the gigabyte 768 OC card today from OCUK - monday cant come fast enough for once

hopefully i should be able to clock both to a reasonable level using afterburner
